根据公关礼仪的惯例，地位低者先介绍。比如，主人要先向客人把自己介绍一下；公关人员要把自己向贵宾作一个介绍；男士要把自己向女士作介绍。晚辈要把自己向长辈作介绍。
位低者先介绍，这是非常重要的一个细节。当然有的时候也没有必要过分地拘谨，如果对方位低，但他忘了介绍了，位置高的人，先作个自我介绍也没有什么。但是，应该位低的人先作介绍，这是介绍的顺序，这一点很重要。
先递名片再作介绍，自我介绍时先递张名片为佳。训练有素的公关人员要养成名片使用规范化的习惯。要先递名片。先递名片有三个好处，其一，少说很多话。我什么头衔，什么职务，就都没有必要说了，其二，加深对方印象。
其三，表示谦恭。不仅作自我介绍的时候，地位低的先介绍，交换名片的时候，也是地位低的人先递名片，实际上是尊重对方。
『贰』 英语中，正规的自我介绍时，姓和名的顺序是怎么样的
如果是中文名字直译成英语就不需要名在前姓在后，如果是英文名就要名在前姓在后了。
姓名是社会成员的符号或标记，英美人的姓和顺序名中国人的相反。他们是：名在前，姓在后，如 Nanthan Hale（内森·黑尔），Nanthan是名，Hale 是姓。所以名叫 first name，姓叫 last name（名也叫 given name或 Christian name；姓也叫 surname或 family name）。
有时，为了纪念某人，在 first name 与 last name之间还可以有一个名，叫 middle name。如 William Paul Taglor（威廉·保罗·泰勒），中间的名常简写成一个字母，即 William P．Taylor。
在自我介绍的时候可以加上一句，你可以叫我什么什么比较保险。You can call me XXX。例如我的英文名字叫做 Leo，假设我姓王。我会说 I am Leo Wang, you can call me Leo。这样很明确，Leo 是名，Wang 是我的姓。

英语姓名的一般结构为：教名（Christian name/first name）自取名/中间名（middle name）姓（family name/last name）如Anna Louis Strong（安娜路易斯斯特朗），Charles Robert Brown（查尔斯罗伯特布朗）。但在很多场合中间名往往略去不写，如George Washington（乔治 .华盛顿）。
另外许多人更喜欢用昵称取代正式教名，如Abe Lincoln（艾伯林肯）。上述教名和中间名又称个人名。按照英语民族的习俗，一般在婴儿接受洗礼的时候，由牧师或父母亲朋为其取名，称为教名。以后本人可以再取用第二个名字，排在教名之后。
英语民族常用的男子名有: Tom( 汤姆)，James(詹姆士)，John(约翰)， David(大卫)，Daniel(丹尼尔)，Michael(麦克尔)， 常见的女子名为：Jane(简)， Mary(玛丽)，Elizabeth(伊丽莎白)，Amn(安)， Sarah(萨拉)，Catherine(凯瑟琳)。
另外还有昵称，昵称包括爱称、略称和小名，是英语民族亲朋好友间用来表示亲切的称呼，是在教名的基础上派生出来的。
英国人在很长的一段时间里只有名而没有姓。直到16世纪姓氏的使用才广泛流行开来。
英语姓氏虽然出现较教名晚，但数量要多得多。常用的有：Smith(史密斯)，Miller(米 勒)，Johnson(约 翰逊)，Brown( 布朗)，Jones(琼斯)，Williams(韦廉姆斯)，Carter( 卡特)，Black( 布莱克)，Bush( 布什)，Bird(伯 德)，Blair(布莱尔)，Peterson( 彼得逊)等。
两点说明：
1、英国人习惯上将教名和中间名全部缩写；如：L. C. Alexander M. H. Thatche等；美国人则习惯于只缩写中间名，如: George W. Bush RonaldW. Reagan等。
2、在姓名之前有时还要有人际称谓，如：Mr. （先生），Mrs.（夫人），Miss（小姐）和Ms.（女士）等以及职务军衔之类，如: Dr. （博士/大夫）, Prof.（教授）, Pres.（总统）等。这些可以用于姓氏前或姓前，如: Mr. Turner, Dr. Bethune等；而Sir(爵土)仅用于教名或姓前，如: Sir Winston Churchill等 。
