Anime,is animation in Japan and considered Japanese animation in the rest of the world.[1] Anime dates from about 1917.
Anime is in Japan is popular among a small community and is now viewed throughout the world. Anime itself is considered a form of limited animation. Anime can be broadcasted either through television or released directly to video, which are often called OVAs or OAV (Original Animation Video).
Anime can be hand drawn or computer-assisted. It is used in television series, films, video, video games, commercials, and internet-based releases, and represents all genres of fiction.
The history of anime begins at the start of the 20th century, when Japanese filmmakers experimented with the animation techniques that were being explored in France, Germany, the United States, and Russia.[2] The oldest known anime in existence was screened in 1917; it was a two minute clip of a samurai trying to test a new sword on his target, only to suffer defeat.[3]
By the 1930s, animation became an alternative format of storytelling compared to the underdeveloped live-action instry in Japan. Unlike America, the live-action instry in Japan remained a small market and suffered from budgeting, location, and casting restrictions. The lack of Western-looking actors, for example, made it next to impossible to shoot films set in Europe, America, or fantasy worlds that do not naturally involve Japan. Animation allowed artists to create any characters and settings.[4]
The success of Disney's 1937 feature film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs influenced Japanese animators.[5] Osamu Tezuka adapted and simplified many Disney animation techniques to rece the costs and number of frames in the proction. This was intended to be a temporary measure to allow him to proce material on a tight schele with an inexperienced animation staff.
During the 1970s, there was a surge of growth in the popularity of manga— were often later animated—especially those of Osamu Tezuka, who has been called a "legend"[6] and the "god of manga".[7][8] His work and that of other pioneers in the field, inspired characteristics and genres that are fundamental elements of anime today. The giant robot genre (known as "Mecha" outside Japan), for instance, took shape under Tezuka, developed into the Super Robot genre under Go Nagai and others, and was revolutionized at the end of the decade by Yoshiyuki Tomino who developed the Real Robot genre. Robot anime like the Gundam and Macross series became instant classics in the 1980s, and the robot genre of anime is still one of the most common in Japan and worldwide today. In the 1980s, anime became more accepted in the mainstream in Japan (although less than manga), and experienced a boom in proction. Following a few successful adaptations of anime in overseas markets in the 1980s, anime gained increased acceptance in those markets in the 1990s and even more in the 2000s.

《钢之炼金术师》是一部注定要成为经典的著作，所谓的“等价交换”原则表面上平平无奇，实际上却有着极其深刻的思想意义。作者荒川弘其实是先想出“要得到某些东西就要付出某些东西”这样的主题才决定采用“炼金术”的题材。不过作者荒川弘和《少年GANGAN》本身在日本的知名度都不是很高，《钢之炼金术师》漫画版默默的连载了数月，与《少年跳跃》这种旗舰级漫画杂志上的作品相比人气一直十分有限。这部作品之所以大红大紫，可以说是因为赶上了恰当的时机。2003年，SQUARE和ENIX合并之后开始了大规模的品牌打造运动，而SQUARE的出版业务也成为其中重点发展的业务板块之一。为了进一步提升《少年GANGAN》的人气，SQUARE-ENIX决定把该杂志上连载的《钢之炼金术师》进行动画化，并且投入了大笔制作经费。2003年10月由水岛精二先生担任监督、伊藤嘉之、石垣纯哉担任角色和机械设定的动画版《钢之炼金术师》在日本上映后人气持续高涨，带动着《少年GANGAN》的发行量稳步提升。进入2004年，SQUARE的出版业务俨然形成了以《钢之炼金术师》为核心，结合动画、漫画、小说、玩具、游戏等系列产品的发展态势。在去年日本动漫情报志PAFU选出的2003年百大最优秀作品中，《钢之炼金术师》击败如林的强敌夺下第一名，并且成为小学馆第49回最佳少年漫画赏的得主。今年2月，SQUARE-ENIX宣布漫画单行本销量已经超过800万本，SQUARE-ENIX出版物部门销售业绩因此达到了65亿日元，创下有史以来的最高记录。SQUARE-ENIX更是信誓旦旦的要把《钢之炼金术师》打造成与FF、DQ同等级的一流品牌。

The story is loosely (very loosely) based on Jules Verne's novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, which means they lifted the parts they liked and then ran off in a completely different direction with them. Set in 1889, the story focuses on Nadia, a 14 year circus acrobat and orphan with a mysterious past. Jean is a 14 year old inventive genius whose inventions don't always work as well as he planned. The two of them lead the thieves on a chase that eventually lands them in the Atlantic Ocean where they are picked up by Captain Nemo and the Nautilus. The series twists and turns from there as Nadia (and we) discover more about the Blue Water, the real bad guys who are after it, and why the fate of the entire planet may ultimately depend on who has the Blue Water.
