在英语中有些及物动词,接了宾语意义仍不完整,还需要有一个其他的句子成分,来补充说明宾语的意义、状态等,简称宾补。宾语和它的补足语构成复合宾语。而复合宾语的第一部分通常由名词或代词充当,第二部分表示第一部分的名词或代词发出的动作或身份、特征等,称为宾语补足语,简称宾补。
句子中的the desk是宾语。一般来说,一个句子由“主谓宾”结构组成——也即是说,上面这个句子如果是I'm going to paint the desk. 也是完全正确的。(我 主语) (涂色 谓语) (桌子 宾语)主谓宾结构最简单的例子,就是“我爱你”。一个句子只要像“我爱你”这句话一样有主谓宾就是正确的。
那为什么the desk后面还要加一个pink呢?因为我想补充说明我想把桌子涂成什么样的。我将要做的不只是要涂桌子,而是把桌子涂成粉红色。“pink” 是句子中的宾语补足语,pink阐述了the desk的状态,让句子意思更加完整。
“pink”是形容词做宾语补足语。能够充当宾补的还有:不定式,现在分词,过去分词,副词,介宾短语。一般情况下,宾补通常紧跟在宾语之后。

We remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past.
We remember her pursuit of justice. It’s like a companion with the goodness. But still, a virtuous person should promote the goodness on one side and must check the badness on the other side.
We remember her self-respect and the clear situation on equality. In her opinion, everyone is the same at the God’s feet. Though there are differences in status、 property and also in appearance, but all the human being are equal in personality.
We also remember her striving for life, her toughness and her confidence…
When we think of this girl, what she gave us was not a pretty face or a transcendent temperament that make us admire deeply, but a huge charm of her personality.
Actually, she wasn’t pretty, and of course, the ordinary appearance didn’t make others feel good of her, even her own aunt felt disgusted with it. And some others even thought that she was easy to look down on and to tease, so when Miss Ingram met Jane Eyre, she seemed quite contemptuous, for that she was obviously much more prettier than ‘the plain and ugly governess’. But as the little governess had said: ‘Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!’ This is the idea of equality in Jane Eyre’s mind. God hadn’t given her beauty and wealth, but instead, God gave her a kind mind and a thinking brain. Her idea of equality and self-respect impress us so much and let us feel the power inside her body.
In my mind, though a person’s beauty on the face can make others once feel that one is attractive and charming, if his or her mind isn’t the same beautiful as the appearance, such as beauty cannot last for, when others find that the beauty which had charmed them was only a falsity, it’s not true, they will like the person no more. For a long time, only a person’s great virtue, a noble soul, a beautiful heart can be called as AN EVERLASTING BEAUTY, just as Kahill Gibran has said, that ‘Beauty is a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted’. I can feel that how beauty really is, as we are all fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleness or humbleness, but fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleness or humbleness, but as there are great differences in our souls, and from that, we can know that whether a man is noble or ordinary, and even obscure, that is, whether he is beautiful or not.
Her story makes us thinking about life and we learn much from her experience, at least, that is a fresh new recognition of the real beauty.
『叁』 如何提高学生英语阅读的交际能力──大学英语课文教学
如何提高学生的英语阅读能力,如何能更有效地进行阅读教学,成为当今教师反复思考的问题。英语教师或学生私下里都会说一句戏谑的话成也阅读,败也阅读。然而学生的阅读能力与其词汇量、文化背景知识和阅读技巧等很多方面都有密切的关系。学生选择适当的阅读技巧,能对提高自己的阅读速度和阅读效率起到一定的作用。因此,英语教师应该调整英语阅读教学方法,有的放矢地指导学生进行英语阅读训练,帮助学生提高英语阅读的能力。目前,高中英语阅读教学中仍存在一定问题,教法上仍然遵循传统的阅读教学模式,先帮助学生理解课文的意思,再完成阅读理解题。传统的英语阅读课其实是语法及词汇课,阅读材料只是语法及词汇的范例。教师很少重视阅读技能的传授,忽略了英语阅读策略的教学,老师只是充当语法书和字典的功能,而学生则成为被动容纳这些知识的机器。记得在教授人教版必修二,第四单元wildlifeprotection的阅读第一课时的时候,预先设置了几个选择题,有主旨大意题,细节推断题等,有点类似于英语试卷中的阅读理解。为了让学生自主学习,提前只是教读了单词,没有要求学生预习课文。谁知第二天上课的时候,学生不仅没有在规定的时间内完成4个选择题,课后还集体要求课代表找教师谈话,让教师用以前那种传统的教法。他说他们都还没学这篇课文呢,怎么会做题呢。教师感觉很无奈,在这个倡导素质教育的年代,在新课程改革实施了几年后,这些偏远地区的孩子们,还深深着依赖着教师,还欣然地接受旧式的满堂灌的教学方法。显然,这对高中学生的英语阅读没有帮助,对他们的成长也有些许的影响。这种教学方式已无法适应新课标对学生的新要求。高中生在阅读中存在的问题主要有:部分学生缺乏英语学习兴趣,认为学习英语就是为了应付考试;有些学生词汇、短语缺乏,理解句子能力差;有些学生在英语阅读中出声阅读、回读、手指阅读,遇到不会的词就卡住了;甚至还有一部分学生,他们根据自己所阅读的片面的信息就妄加猜测。针对这些问题,笔者认为,提高中学生的英语阅读能力,教师可以从这些方面帮助我们的学生。一、平时多渗透阅读课的教学不只是以语法知识的传授为目的,而是以透彻理解课文为前提,对课文的框架结构、写作特点、文化背景知识、作者的写作意图等,这些都是影响理解课文、锻炼阅读理解能力的主要因素,因此,教师应该在平时的阅读课潜移默化地渗透阅读理解的相关技巧。二、打破单词无用论的说法曾经,听到学生这样抱怨的时候,自己就在想,怎样能够让他们懂得记单词的好处呢?于是,做了这样一个练习,用一节课的时间让学生做三个阅读理解,按照难度,单词量,题量的升序排列。这节课下来,不用刻意地去说什么,学生自然能懂得记单词是很有用的。这样,学生们深信单词有用论,不用督促,他们也能很好地,主动地记单词了。三、实现阅读课课堂教学的有效性所谓有效是指有效果、有成效、有效力。课堂教学的有效性是指通过课堂教学活动,学生有收获、有提高、有进步。课堂教学的有效性主要体现学习时间,学习结果,学习体验这三个层面上。在阅读课的讲授过程中,要让学生在既定的时间内完成指定的阅读训练,并且掌握一定的做题技巧,还要让学生觉得这节课值得一听。四、采用各种方法提高学生的阅读兴趣学生都觉得英语难,难得已经没有兴趣学了,更不用说英语阅读了。有的学生或许会把英语阅读书籍当作他的助眠书。因此,教师们应该采用各种方法提高学生的阅读兴趣。刚开始的时候,教师可以给学生找一些简单的英语笑话,诗歌,歌曲,绕口令,谚语等,让学生们觉得英语学习有很多乐趣。在教学中教师还要有意识、有计划地指导学生阅读,让学生不要局限于课本知识,平时要求学生要扩大阅读面,教师要给学生提供各种题材的阅读材料,特别是一些刊登在英文报刊上的文章,使学生真切地感受东西方文化差异,激发学生学习兴趣。五、促使学生养成良好的阅读习惯教师应该指导阅读方法。教会学生改朗读为默读,要强化默读训练,培养用眼、脑快速阅读,改回读为自信阅读。改查字典释义为掌握猜词技巧,如果阅读中一遇到生词就停下来查字典,既影响了阅读的速度和连贯性,又不利于理解其中的信息内容。学生们可以用构词知识、定义或解释说明等来猜测词义,也可以根据对比关系、因果关系及上下文暗示来猜测词义,教师在平常要多注意这方面能力的培养。余文森:《有效教学十讲》华东师范大学出版社.

这部分内容主要考察的是复合句的知识点:
复合句分为并列复合句compound sentence(也称并列句)和主从或从属复合句complex sentence(也称复杂句),并列复合句compound sentence是有并列连词:and、or、but连接;从属复合句complex sentence由一个主句(Principal Clause)和一个或一个以上的从句(Subordinate Clause)构成。
