兴趣是最好的老师.一个成功的英语教师要在教学中有意识、有目的地培养学生对英语的持久兴趣,在阅读教学中教师应运用多种途径激发学生实践的热情,增强学习英语的自信，让学生在学习英语的过程中实现从“要我学”为“我要学”。
1.精心选择阅读材料
阅读材料，尤其是初中学生的英语阅读材料，不仅要趣味性浓，并且要贴近生活。学生往往喜爱的阅读材料有故事、童话、幽默小品等形式。因此在选择读物时尽量选一些内容生动、有趣、富有吸引力的材料，增强学生的阅读兴趣。其次阅读材料的难易程度直接影响学生的阅读心理与情感。生词太多，学生读不懂阅读材料，达不到训练的目的，还会对阅读产生畏惧心理而放弃阅读，给进一步的阅读教学造成障碍。因此所选材料应适合学生的实际知识水平，难易适当，使学生读得轻松愉快，在快乐中获得知识，增强了他们阅读的信心。
2.拓展文化背景知识
现行中学英语教材为我们的学生提供了较为丰富的阅读材料。课文题材多样，体裁各异，内容涉及了科学技术、天文地理、环境保护、自然灾害、医疗救护、饮食文化等。教师可以在阅读前，通过介绍，提问等方式激活学生原有的文化背景知识，并提供他们所缺乏的文化背景信息。这样既可以激发学生的阅读兴趣，又可以保证其理解和交际的有效性,根据学生的年龄特点和认知能力，逐步扩展文化知识的内容和范围。
3.丰富阅读竞赛活动
老师在备课的时候不仅备教材更要备学生，应当针对初中学生的特点，设计恰当的课堂活动。教师可以通过举行竞赛性质的活动，如：开展拼写单词比赛，激发学生学习单词的兴趣；开展朗读比赛，激发学生的朗读兴趣，这些比赛其实就是创造一种学以致用的氛围，使学生们切实感到英语的成就感，有“用武之地”，在比赛中，当学生在某一方面获得了一次成功后，就会增强学习英语的兴趣，于是就会更主动自觉地学习。如此良性循环，学生的学习负担逐渐减轻，学习效果也就不断提高。

2.2 我通过自己的采访分析得出一些公外学生学习英语阅读中出现的问题和我调查出来比较适合的一些方法。
通过采访我得出以下几种西藏民族学院公外英语阅读学习中出现的问题
1. 词汇量普遍不够。
2. 阅读材料选择不是很准确
3. 对文章的背景知识理解缺乏
4. 阅读的速度控制不好
根据这些问题我吸取了在英语四级考试成绩较为理想的同学的学习经验，总结出英语阅读学习中应该注意些什么问题。

1. 扩大词汇量。词汇量的不足是阅读的最大障碍。在阅读过程中通过上下文来猜词，其主要方法是“推断”，依据包括语法结构知识、语篇只是、构词只是、上下文语义关联以及个人的其他知识经验，然后反复辨认、记忆，特别是常用词和惯用词的使用，进而使这种阅读自然地变成本能的学习记忆方式。
2. 培养阅读兴趣。阅读兴趣即为什么阅读的动机，有着强烈的动机就冷更能集中精力的阅读，效果也会提高的。但如果缺少兴趣，阅读时会感觉吃力、更焦虑。所以平时我们可以算着自己比较感兴趣的材料进行阅读激发兴趣。
3. 根据不同的阅读目的，采取不同方法去阅读。比如略读、跳读、精读。其中略读就是更快的了解文章大意，速度较快。跳读的目的是寻找文章中某些特定信息，阅读一目十行，自上而下。精读比较仔细的阅读，并分析其中的难点。
4. 在阅读过程中，要学会根据语境词义。利用上下文来猜词义。还有利用引申词来猜测。两外利用下定义的句子猜测词义
5. 把握阅读速度，提高阅读效率。要力求融会贯通、掌握通篇的中心思想；不是通过翻译来理解，而是使用英语的文字在大脑里直接产生意义。因此，我们要根据英语的特点，使用正确的阅读方法，根据问题去找答案，在这种阅读方法的使用过程中，学生需要自上而下、一目十行的方法速度与问题相关的句子或段落，快速找到答案。
