In ecation, teachers facilitate student learning, often in a school or academy. The objective is typically a course of study, lesson plan, or a practical skill, including learning and thinking skills. The different ways to teach are often referred to as the teacher's pedagogy. When deciding what teaching method to use, a teacher will need to consider students' background knowledge, environment, and their learning goals as well as standardized curricula as determined by the relevant authority. The teacher should also be able to deal with students with different abilities and should also be able to deal with learning disabilities. Many times, teachers will have to do their job outside of the classroom by accompanying students on field trips. They also supervise study halls, help with the organization of school functions, and serve as supervisors for extracurricular activities. Although many people see teaching as a 9 to 3 job most teachers work well outside the school day including weekends. A fifty or sixty hour week is not uncommon with no additional financial compensation. In addition, many teachers purchase items for their students and classroom out of their own wages and (in Canada) receive no tax dection for these purchases.
Modern technology such as computers and the Internet has caused a decrease in reading. Besides, we, high school students, have to put the most time into our homework, as a result, there is little time for us to read anything else besides the textbooks. However, reading books in our spare time has many benefits. First of all, books allow us to use our imagination. Secondly, reading can be done anywhere as long as there is enough light. It doesn’t need electricity or access to the Internet. Thirdly, while reading can be entertaining, it can also help to expand our knowledge on any subjects. So I hope that more students will form the habit of reading after class and that we will see an increase in reading outside the high school classroom in the future.
Studies based on instrumental variable techniques suggest that the value of a high schoolecation is large for potential dropouts, yet we know much less about the size of the benefit for students who will go on to post-secondary ecation. To help fill this gap, I measure the value-added of a year of high-school mathematics for university-bound students using a recent Ontario secondary school reform. The subject specificity of this reform makes it possible to identify the benefit of an extra year of mathematics despite the presence of self-selection: one can use subjects unaffected by the reform to control for potential ability differences between control and treatment groups. Further, the richness of the data allows me to generalize the standard difference-in-differences estimator, correcting for heterogeneity in ability measurement across subjects. The estimated value-added to an extra year of mathematics is small for these students – of the order of 17 percent of a standard deviation in university grades. This evidence helps to explain why the literature finds only modest effects of taking more mathematics in high schoolon wages, the small monetary gain being e to a lack of subject-specific human capital accumulation. Within- and between-sample comparisons also suggest that the extra year of mathematics benefits lowerability students more than higher-ability students.
With the development of technology, today, people has many fast ways to have access to the knowledge, such as click on the computer, what we want to know can immediately present in front of us. The fast reading way is very convenient, but students start to read outside the college less, because it takes time. Readingoutside the college is necessary, we can’t ignore.
First, reading outside the college can broaden our visional field. What we learn from class is limited, we need to read as more as possible to fulfill our mind. So when we do some research paper, we will have different ideas and provide some creativity. What’s more, such books are interesting, we will have fun outside the class.
Second, reading outside the college can cultivate people’s reading behavior. We read in school because we are forced, we have teachers to look at us. Once we are out of school, no one’s watching us, we’ll leave the books behind easily. Books are profound and we can gain much knowledge, we need to read them all the time, the reading behavior should be cultivated.
Readingis important to us, we should spend more time in reading outside the school.
I pray to start over.
No matter what has happened,
I am willing to let today be new.
Thank you for the chance to begin again.
Today I begin a new.
I see through the eyes of innocence.
