Dogs(狗)
Dogs belong to the canine.
When a dog follows its nose, it's actually being led by thee key senses. Sight:a glimpse of the enemy saves them barking up the wrong tree. Sound: a bark can be a fierce threat, but it's also how canines make their long distance calls. Smell: this tells a dog more than all the other senses put together.
Inside its nose are around o hundred million *** ell sensitive cells, forty times more than in humans. Through them the dog's brain can pick up signals from one molecule of scent in a million. It gives the dog: a pletely different picture of the world, based on what it *** ells, rather than what it sees.
Flowers are irrelevant to a dog. So their scent is meaningless. But food is a serious matter. What to us is an empty plate, is covered with the *** ell of chicken to a hungry dog.

(There’sSomethingAboutMary)
(You’veGotMail)
(Mask)
(Michael)
(Didier)
(Babe)

中亚牧羊犬- Asia Dog It's a legendary dog. How many breeds do you know which are thousand years old? The sheepdog is at least 400,000.. Its life was all hard experiences, a severe climate and the everlasting enemy - wolf. Climatic conditions of a huge Asian region vary but not to such extent like in the Caucasian region. Besides, Asia is turned out to be more isolated and its dogs are of more pure breeds than in different regions. It would be possible to assume that the Middle Asian Sheepdog has the exterior very close to that of ancient dogs. In these terms, the Middle Asian Sheepdog is of great value for us. In the middle of the eleventh century on the territory where ancient Turkmen lived (the Syr-Darya region) the Seldguk-clan came into power. They converted to Islam and moved to Iran and the Asia Minor with their vassals. In the 14-15th centuries the Seldguk's descendants - the O *** ans started the O *** an Empire. Thus, the Anatoly carabash, a direct descendant of the Middle Asian dog, moved with ancient Turkmen-nomads. Another brunch of the Middle Ages nomads, that were the ancestors of the Osetins, was known in Western Europe as the Allans. It was the Allans whose dogs are associated with the origin of many Mastiffs in Western Europe. Now, just think of how many nomadic tribes crossed the Great Heath ring its history, how many of them settled down and assimilated with tribes arrived there earlier. Every new wave of migration brought dogs with it that were different from those living there. Migrants mixed with local dogs and their generations were selected naturally according to their ability to survive in severe conditions. A man's requirement was all time the same - perfect work without any failure. Thus through hundreds of years on the huge territory of the Middle Asian region there was formed a perfect breed - the Middle Asian Sheepdog. As a reflection of the very plicated history of the dog there some inbreed types but nowadays to trace their relations with particular tribes and regions is impossible

Panda—the National Treasure Panda is one of the scarcest animals. People in the world like it very much. There used to be many pandas in China long ago. There are now so many pandas that some are being sent to other countries so that people there can enjoy them. Nowadays, the biggest nature park for panda in China is in Sichuan. Dear Aunt Aggie,
I'm having a problem with my classmate, Rena, at school. The other day I wrote an email to another classmate, Beth, in which I said some things about Rena that perhaps weren't very nice. Unluckily, when Beth was writing back to me, she accidentally forwarded(无意间转发) the message to Rena! Now Rena is really angry with me and won't talk to me, and Beth is unhappy as well. She's said sorry to me a hundred times already, but the harm is done. I feel bad, because I never would have said those things to Rena's face, but how do I get her to forgive(谅解) me? What should I do? Joe
To: [email protected] From: [email protected]
Subject: Some advice Date: 22/06/2005 10:45 AM
Dear Joe,
This problem is more common than you might think! Email is very useful, but also very dangerous, as you don't know where your message might end up! First of all, you should say sorry right away to Rena. Explain that it was a mistake, and that you didn't mean to hurt her feelings. It may take time for her to be able to forgive you, but that's up to her. Then you might want to do something nice for her. Perhaps send her some flowers to show that you're truly sorry. Also, you should remember that old saying:" If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." And good luck! Aggie

Food is life; it gives us the nourishment (营养) we need to stay alive and be healthy. Usually, we eat because we are hungry or need energy. Brian Wansink, a professor (教授) at the University of Illinois, says we also eat certain (某种) foods because they make us feel good, and remind us of happy memories. Wansink calls this kind of food comfort food. For some people, ice cream is a comfort food. For others, a bowl of noodles makes them feel good.
How does a food became comfort food? Professor Wansink believes that we connect food with important times, feelings, and people in our lives, 'When I was a child, my mother made a delicious soup; I loved it. Now, I often eat this soup when I am tired or worried, and it helps me feel better,' says one of Wansink's friends.
Do men and women choose different comfort foods? Wansink's research (研究) at the University of Illinois says 'yes'. In his study, the favourite comfort for both men and women was ice cream. After this, men usually preferred hot, delicious foods like soup or noodles. Women liked sweet things such as chocolate and candies. Men and women like to eat comfort foods when they are happy, but women eat these foods more when they are sad or worried.

Is your family interested in buying a dog? A dog can be a good friend to your family, but if you choose the wrong kind of dog, it can cause you a lot of trouble.
Family should sit down and discuss the problems before buying a dog. Even if the children in your family are the ones who want the dog, the parent are the ones who are really responsible (有责任的) for seeing that the animal is properly cared for. If you don't know much about dogs, it's a good idea to go to the library for books about different kinds of dogs, as well as books about how to train a young dog. Dogs of different kinds change in popularity as the years go by. One of the most popular dogs these days is the German shepherd (牧羊犬). This is because it provides protection. The family should be warned that these dogs grow up to be very big, and may be too powerful for children. If your house is not big, a toy dog may be a good choice (选择). These dogs are very small and easy to train. They don't need to be walked daily.

We have arrived in the hot, wet city of Bangkok. This is our first trip to Thailand(泰国). All the different smells make us want to try the food. We are going to eat something special for dinner tonight. The hotel we are staying in is cheap, and very clean. We plan to stay here for a few days, visit some places in the city, and then travel to Chiang Mai in the North.
Tuesday, March 27th
Bangkok is wonderful and surprising! The places are interesting. We visited the famous market which was on water, and saw a lot of fruits and vegetables. Everything is so colorful, and we have taken hundreds of photos already! Later today we will leave for Chiang Mai. We will take the train north, stay in Chiang Mai for two days, and then catch a bus to Chiang Rai.
Friday,March 30th
Our trip to Chiang Rai was long and boring. We visited a small village in the mountains. The village people here love the quiet life -- no computers or phones.
