As you have read ‘Oliver Twist’, a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century which has became one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens, you can really understand the worlds‘regain the nature of goodness’.

Charles Dickens was born in a poor family ,having a poor background ,he wrote this novel in his twenties ,who was just with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals,as well as to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of ‘Oliver Twist’ was an orphan named Oliver Twist, when he was born ,he was thrown into a world which is full of poverty and crime. He has suffered enormous pains, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt really sorry for the poor boy, but at the same time I detest the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as all the happy stories do, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a

happy life at the end. One of the plots which attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

Sometimes,in the deep and quiet nights,I keep asking myself,how can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

Reflect on myself,I define the nature of goodness to be one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself. To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

There are some worlds in an essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’.

All in all,if a person without goodness ,he is destined to lose everything. Thereby, all those ‘vermin-to-be’ should learn from the book and remember to regain the nature of goodness in the bottom of theirs’hearts.

I. Introction

The Little Prince first published in 1943, is a novella and the most famous work of the French aristocrat, writer, poet and pioneering aviator Antoinede Saint-Exupéry(1900–1944).The novella is both the most read and most translated book in the French language, and was voted the best book of the 20th century in France. Translated into more than 250 languages and dialects, and it has become one of the best-selling books ever published. Saint-Exupéry, a laureate of several of France's highest literary awards and areserve military pilot at the start of the Second World War, wrote and illustratedthe manuscript while exiled in the United States after the Fall of France. He hadtravelled there on a personal mission to persuade its government to quickly enter the war against Nazi Germany. In the midst of personal upheavals andfailing health he proced almost half of the writings he would be rememberedfor, including a tender tale of loneliness, friendship, love and loss, in the form ofa young prince fallen to Earth.An earlier memoir by the author recountedhisaviation experiences in the Sahara and he is thought to have drawn on those sameexperiences for use as plot elements in The Little Prince. II. A Summary of The Little Prince

The Little Prince tells a story like that: A pilot crashes in the Sahara Desert.A thousand miles from any habitation, while attempting to fix his plane, he meetsa strangely dressed little boy who seems to have come from nowhere, and whodemands that he draw a sheep. "When a mystery is too overpowering, one dare not disobey," so the pilot attempts to draw a sheep. Graally the littleprince reveals his story. He comes from a small asteroid, where he lives alone until arose grows there. But the rose is demanding, and he is confused by his feelingsabout her. Eventually he decides to leave, and journey to other planets in search ofknowledge. After meeting many confusing alts, he eventually lands on Earth,where he befriends a snake and a fox. The fox helps him to understand the rose, and the snake offers to help him return to his planet-- but at a price. From my point of view, The Little Prince is not simply a fairy tale, but aphilosophicalnovel. The author reveals the absurdity of the civilized world through the eyes of the little prince, who has a pure heart and a true world.

III. My Views on The Little Prince

The use of the symbols makes the story full of meanings and morevivid. Firstly, the setting is in the Desert of Sahara. As for me, desert is pure landinsome way, not yet the invasion of the modern civilization. Only in such a place,can love, responsibility and the human nature be revealed fully. Secondly, the first creature the little prince encountered was the snake. In the west, thesnake represents mystery and power. In the story, the snake is “more powerful than the finger of a king”and has the prophet for everything. The snake thought the prince was “innocent and true” while “this earth made of granite”, so finally it sent thelittle prince back to his planet. What the snake said tell the darkness and evil of the human, the little prince is not suitable to live in such a place. Thirdly,the choice of the fox is also meaningful. In people’s eyes, the fox is always filled withwisdom. In the story, the fox is just like a philosopher, giving the prince adviceand inspiring him to understand the meaning of love, the responsibilities for his rose, and the difference between “alike” and “unique”. The fox told thelittle prince his secret: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; whatis essential is invisible to the eye”, but “the men have forgotten this truth”.

The words satires the ignorance of human beings who do not even know thetrue essence of love and friendship. Meanwhile, it reminds us that we shouldbe responsible for our love, to be true. In the story, it describes the people such as the king, the conceited man, the tippler, the businessman and so on. They represent allmanner of man in the earth with their own symbolic meanings.

The story is made up of philosophical sentences, from which we can gain a good deal of enlightenment. I will take some as examples. In chapter 17,the snake told the prince “It is also lonely among men”. As for me, nowadays peopleis becoming busy and ambitious, they no longer have time to care about others, even their friends just for pursuing their own goals. We can see thealienationbetween them. It reminds me of the masterpiece Moby Dick written by Herman Melville. Because of the alienation between man and man, they can notunite together, which lead to a tragedy in the end. In chapter 10, the king said:”Youshall judge yourself that is the most difficult thing of all. It is much more difficultto judge oneself than to judge others. If you succeed in judging yourself rightly, then you are indeed a man of true wisdom”. I can not agree it more. AsPlato said:”know yourself”, which is a important principle for us to live. It is of greatimportance to know who we are, what we have done and for what. Only if we can truly know ourselves, can we make the right choice, not blind for seekingfor something meaningless. As the lamplighter said, “It is impossible for a man to be faithful and lazy at the same time.” This sentence illustrates the old saying”You can’t have your cake and eat it too”, things are always like that,admittedly, human is greedy sometimes.

The Little Prince almost covers all aspects of life, including friendship, love,responsibilities, freedom and so on. It can be said as a guidance for a better life, better society. We’d better be childish in our deep heart and soul.

Scarlett, the leading character in the novel, impressed me the most. So I want to talk something about her. Her character was very complex. She was childish and optimistic. She was not good at analyzing and introspection. These characters made her use six or seven years’ experiences to realize that the unwilling love was wrong. Gone with the Wind has a very significant position in our society. We feel America is an incredible and strange country, but Gone with the Wind uncovers her too softhearted veil, making people see many things that dirty and glorious are coexisted. ⑷ 英语论文写作文献的引用与标注

1. 英文论文正文中引用标注的格式,所引用内容为译本内容

参考文献加标注一般是在引用文字的末尾点击插入引用——脚注和尾注，选择尾注就可以了，参考文献应该属于尾注，在菜单里选“插入---引用----脚注和尾注”，脚注是在文章的某一页下面的注解，而尾注就是在文章最后了，打开后就可以选编码，即角码。可以自己设定类型、格式。双击编码就可以在文章和参考文献间转换。

在英文输入法状态下输入[1]，选中[1].按ctrl+shift++号键

把光标放在引用参考文献的地方，在菜单栏上选“插入|脚注和尾注”，弹出的对话框中选择“尾注”，点击“选项”按钮修改编号格式为阿拉伯数字，位置为“文档结尾”，确定后Word就在光标的地方插入了参考文献的编号，并自动跳到文档尾部相应编号处请你键入参考文献的说明，在这里按参考文献著录表的格式添加相应文献。参考文献标注要求用中括号把编号括起来，至今我也没找到让Word自动加中括号的方法，需要手动添加中括号。 在文档中需要多次引用同一文献时，在第一次引用此文献时需要制作尾注，再次引用此文献时点“插入|交叉引用”，“引用类型”选“尾注”，引用内容为“尾注编号（带格式）”，然后选择相应的文献，插入即可。不要以为已经搞定了，我们离成功还差一步。论文格式要求参考文献在正文之后，参考文献后还有发表论文情况说明、附录和致谢，而Word的尾注要么在文档的结尾，要么在“节”的结尾，这两种都不符合我们的要求。解决的方法似乎有点笨拙。首先删除尾注文本中所有的编号（我们不需要它，因为它的格式不对），然后选中所有尾注文本（参考文献说明文本），点“插入|书签”，命名为“参考文献文本”，添加到书签中。这样就把所有的参考文献文本做成了书签。在正文后新建一页，标题为“参考文献”，并设置好格式。光标移到标题下，选“插入|交叉引用”，“引用类型”为“书签”，点“参考文献文本”后插入，这样就把参考文献文本复制了一份。选中刚刚插入的文本，按格式要求修改字体字号等，并用项目编号进行自动编号。到这里，我们离完美还差一点点。打印文档时，尾注页同样会打印出来，而这几页是我们不需要的。当然，可以通过设置打印页码范围的方法不打印最后几页。这里有另外一种方法，如果你想多学一点东西，请接着往下看。选中所有的尾注文本，点“格式|字体”，改为“隐藏文字”，切换到普通视图，选择“视图|脚注”，此时所有的尾注出现在窗口的下端，在“尾注”下拉列表框中选择“尾注分割符”，将默认的横线删除。同样的方法删除“尾注延续分割符”和“尾注延续标记”。删除页眉和页脚（包括分隔线），选择“视图|页眉和页脚”，首先删除文字，然后点击页眉页脚工具栏的“页面设置”按钮，在弹出的对话框上点“边框”，在“页面边框”选项卡，边框设置为“无”，应用范围为“本节”；“边框”选项卡的边框设置为“无”，应用范围为“段落”。切换到“页脚”，删除页码。选择“工具|选项”，在“打印”选项卡里确认不打印隐藏文字（Word默认）。

2. 英文论文中英文标注的正确格式是什么

文中引述 正确引用作品原文或专家、学者的论述是写好英语论文的重要环节；既要注意引述与论文的有机统一，即其逻辑性，又要注意引述格式（即英语论文参考文献）的规范性。

引述别人的观点，可以直接引用，也可以间接引用。无论采用何种方式，论文作者必须注明所引文字的作者和出处。

美国学术界通行的做法是在引文后以圆括弧形式注明引文作者及出处。现针对文中引述的不同情况，将部分规范格式分述如下。

若引文不足三行，则可将引文有机地融合在论文中。如：The divorce of Arnold's personal desire from his inheritance results in “the familiar picture of Victorian man alone in an alien universe”。

被引述的文字如果超过三行，则应将引文与论文文字分开，如下例所示：Whitman has proved himself an eminent democratic representative and precursor, and his “Democratic Vistas”is an admirable and characteristic And if one is sorry that in it Whitman is unable to conceive the extreme crises of society, one is certain that no society would be tolerable whoses citizens could not find refreshment in its buoyant democratic ideali *** 。这里的格式有两点要加以注意。

一是引文各行距英语论文的左边第一个字母十个空格，即应从第十一格打起；二是引文不需加引号，末尾的句号应标在最后一个词后。若引文出自一部多卷书，除注明作者姓和页码外，还需注明卷号。

如：Professor Chen Jia's A History of English Literature aimed to give Chinese readers“a historical survey of English literature from its earliest beginnings down to the 20thcentury”。圆括弧里的1为卷号，小写罗马数字i为页码，说明引文出自第1卷序言（引言、序言、导言等多使用小写的罗马数字标明页码）。

如果英语论文中引用了同一作者的两篇或两篇以上的作品，除注明引文作者及页码外，还要注明作品名。如：Bacon condemned Platoas“an obstacle to science”。

一般来说，一篇好的英文摘要，一开头就应该把作者本文的目的或要解决的主要问题非常明确地交待清楚。必要时，可利用论文中所列的最新文献，简要介绍前人的工作，但这种介绍一定要极其简练。

在这方面，《EI》提出了两点具体要求：1.1) Eliminate or minimize background information（不谈或尽量少谈背景信息）。1.2) Avoid repeating the title or part of the titlein the first sentence of the abstract（避免在摘要的第一句话重复使用题目或题目的一部分）。

第八、英语毕业论文——过程与方法（How I did it？） 过程及方法。主要说明作者主要工作过程及所用的方法。

在英文摘要中，过程与方法的阐述起着承前启后的作用。开头交待了要解决的问题（What I want to do）之后，接着要回答的自然就是如何解决问题（How I did it），而且，最后的结果和结论也往往与研究过程及方法是密切相关的。

大多数作者在阐述过程与方法时，最常见的问题是泛泛而谈、空洞无物，只有定性的描述，使读者很难清楚地了解论文中解决问题的过程和方法。因此，在说明过程与方法时，应结合（指向）论文中的实例、实验框图等来进行阐述，这样可以既给读者一个清晰的思路。

第九、英语毕业论文——结果和结论（What results did I get and what conclusionscan I draw？）结果和结论部分代表着论文的主要成就和贡献，英语毕业论文有没有价值，值不值得读者阅读，主要取决于你所获得的结果和所得出的结论。因此，在写作结果和结论部分时，一般都要尽量。

4. 英语论文 参考文献怎么在文中标注出

学校一般有格式的，按照格式标注。

驳论文是议论文常见的论证文体，在对一些社会丑陋现象的批判与揭露上价值尤为突出，但学生在写作中往往感到不知从何驳起，无从下笔。其实，这类文章写作有一个思路，那就是：1、列现象，2、示弊端，3、探根源，4、指出路。本文适宜高中课文，鲁迅先生的名篇《拿来主义》为例，对驳论文的这一特征予以探析。

列现象

对现实中不合道德、有碍社会健康发展的现象进行列举。事例选取的典型性，以求警醒人们；罗列的丰富性，以求引起读者共鸣；修辞的多样性，以求彰显行文文采，增强气势。例：

单是学艺上的东西，近来就先送一批古董到巴黎去展览，但终“不知后事如何”；还有几位“大师”们捧着几张古画和新画，在欧洲各国一路的挂过去，叫作“发扬国光”。听说不远还要送梅兰芳博士到苏联去，以催进“象征主义”，此后是顺便到欧洲传道。

5. 论文引用怎么标注

论文中引用他人的文献应当按照参考文献的国家标准格式依次进行引用和标注。

格式为： [序号]主要责任者.文献题名[文献类型标识].出版地：出版者，出版年.起止页码（可选）。 例如： [7]金显贺，王昌长，王忠东，等. 一种用于在线检测局部放电的数字滤波技术[J].清华大学学报（自然科学版），1993,33⑷：62-67. [4]冯西桥. 核反应堆压力管道和压力容器的LBB分析[R]. 北京：清华大学核能技术设计研究院，1997. ⑸ 英文参考文献引用格式是什么

英文参考文献引用格式有两种：APA格式和MLA格式。

1、APA格式：APA（American Psychological Association）是一种标明参考来源的格式，主要使用在社会科学领域及其他学术准则中，国内很多期刊也是采用的APA格式。

APA文内注的参考文献格式是：“（作者姓氏，发表年份）”。

APA文末的参考文献目录格式是：Reference List, 必须以姓（Family name）的字母顺序来排列，基本结构为：

期刊类：【作者】【发表年份】【文章名】【期刊名】【卷号/期数：起止页码】Smith,J.（2006）.The title of the article.The title of Journal,1,101-105。

非期刊类：【作者】【发表年份】【书籍名】【出版地：出版社】Sussan.G.（2002）.What computers can't do.New York:Harp&Row。

2、MLA格式：MLA是美国现代语言协会（Modern Language Association）制定的论文指导格式，多用于人文学科（Liberal Arts）。

MLA文内注的基本格式：“（作者姓氏，文献页码）”。

MLA文末的参考文献目录格式：在MLA格式中称为Works Cited,同样是以姓（Family name）的字母顺序来排列，基本结构为：

期刊类：【作者】【“文章名”】【期刊名】【卷号或期数】【发表年份】起止页码】Nwezeh,C.E.“The Comparative Approachto Modern African Literature.”Year book of General and Comparative Literature 28(1979):22。

非期刊类：【作者】【书籍名】【出版地：出版社】【发表年份】Winfield,Richard Dien.Law in Civil Society.Madison:U of Wisconsin P,1995。

文献引用不符合要求具体表现是：

1、所列文献范围过宽，凡所参阅过的均列出其中，如教材、内部刊物、获奖过但并未公开发表的成果报告等。

2、所列文献过多，如有些医生认为文献越多越好，将参阅过的文章书籍后的参考文献也悉数收录，有些文献作者并没有亲自阅读，只是认为跟自己的文章搭点边，也凑数其后。

3、所列文献过少，有些医生怕自己文章引述别人东西太多，被人认为抄袭，故意将一些重要参考文献略去。

4、对文献的理解偏面，以为只有引用文献原文才需要列出。

5、大而不当，将整期刊物甚至连续几期杂志或整张报纸作为参考文献。
