So he sat down, and the fox began to run, and away they went over stock and stone so quick that their hair whistled in the wind.

不会因为选的教材不同而对英语成绩有所影响，因为教材所包含的主题和涉及的难度差距没有那么大。但是学校能不能把教材上的东西让学生学透了，就会对英语成绩有影响了。
所以感觉还是得看学校，看老师，看家长的重视程度。
一套书常见六个单元，涉及衣食住行、爱好、工作、爱情等各个方面。难度增加很缓慢，特别适合零基础学生建立信心。
每个单元的内容都可以活学活用，每本书配套练习册，包含听力练习。针对中国学生听力差，练习一开始的难度很低。很多学生做听力觉得难，是因为听的内容远超出自己水平，最后被打击到放弃。
还有学口语，目前最好的教材是《剑桥国际英语教程》，非常地道的美式表达，一共四本书，一本16个单元，主题也涉及生活方方面面，非常丰富。学完四本如果掌握得好，雅思口语8分没问题，我很熟练的掌握了前三本而已，口语7分。
