那时的学校，也只不过是一所破破烂烂的房子。父亲学会了老师教的内容，就借同学的一些书看了起来。中午到了，父亲回到家，又得去给菜地浇水，给羊割草。他忙完后，又到房间捧起书来看，然后再去上学。下午放学，父亲常常连晚饭也顾不上吃，就做起作业来。天黑了，父亲就在煤油灯来学习，常常很晚才睡觉。但是，不管他多晚睡觉，第二天只要公鸡一声啼，父亲总能按时起床。
父亲常常对我说：“人生每一个阶段，每时每刻都得奋斗，只要你奋斗了，就一定能赢!”是呀，父亲不就是奋斗了吗?他现在是医院里的外科专家，非常受人尊重，但是至今仍在不懈地奋斗着。父亲还说：“我的成就不是为了荣誉，而是为了给社会多做贡献，所以我选择了当医生，我要认真对待每一个生命，对每一个生命负责”!
