Philosopher was fond of philosophy . His physical force was weak ,but his mental fore was great .He noticed every petty phenomenon :A pianist played the piano .A physicist was a person versed in or studying physics, and he must understand photoelectric effect .Both physicians and surgeons knew physiology well. A photographer must learn photography , thus he could take nice photographs .The philosopher could pick out these people from a group of people . And because he picked up some knowledge of physics and chemistry ,he knew physical thing were those he could see ,touch ,etc It was a physical impossibility for the sun to rise in the west .Petrol could be made from petroleum .He spoke in simple phrases to explain these to children .But the philosopher was going through a difficult phase . The government rejected his petition for eliminating the pests . This made him a little pessimistic . But he wasn’t a petty person .So he decided to take a trip .He picked out a cat as a pet to accompany him .On the way to the railway station ,he picked up a coin on the floor .Then he got on a train to Paris .The train stopped to pick up passengers then it picked up speed .The philosopher picked up French while he was staying in Paris .

The Candle That Can't Be Lighted
A man had a little daughter—an only and much-loved child. He lived for her—she was his life.
一个男人有一个可爱的女儿，那是他唯一的孩子，他深深地爱着她，女儿就是他的全部。
So when she became ill, he became like a man possessed, moving heaven and earth to bring about her restoration to health.

Every white-robed angelic child carried a candle. He noticed that one child's candle was not lighted. Then he saw that the child with the dark candle was his own little girl.

Rushing to her, he seized her in his arms, caressed her tenderly, and then asked,“How is it, darling, that your candle alone is unlighted?”“Daddy, they often relight it, but your tears always put it out.”

Just then he awoke from his dream. The lesson was crystal clear, and its effects were immediate.

he pulled hard at the gold chain to get it into the boat, but there seemed to be no end to it. his boat started to get over-loaded and the sea water filled his boat.

however, he had begun dreaming of a big house, a big piece of land and buying horses and cows...he kept pulling in the chain though the boat kept sinking.
然而，他却依旧没完没了地做着黄粱美梦：可以买一幢大房子，置一大片稻田，再买下几头牛、几匹马……尽管小船一直往下沉，他却依然拖着金链。
the boat was finally submerged and he struggled to stay afloat. unfortunately his feet were entangled in the gold chain and he drowned.
最后，小船终于沉下去了，落入水中的他拼命挣扎想游出水面。不幸的是，他的双脚被金链死死缠住，淹死了。

"Little Red Riding Hood, grandmother is sick, so go and give this to her. You must not go wandering."
At the entrance of the woods, a wolf appeared. "Little Red Riding Hood, Where are you going?" "I'm going to visit my grandmother." "Is your grandmother sick?" "Yes."
The wolf thought to himself. 'I'll eat the grandmother and Little Red, at the same time.' The wolf spoke kindly. "Are you taking flowers? Your sick grandmother will be very happy to receive flowers from you."
Little Red Riding Hood did not go straight to her grandmother's house. She was busy picking flowers for her grandmother. She had quickly forgotten that her mother had told her to not wander elsewhere. After seeing Little Red picking flowers, the wolf went quickly to grandmother's house.
The wolf talked like the voice of Little Red Riding Hood. "Grandmother, it's me Little Red Riding Hood. I heard you were sick, so I came to see you. Please open the door." As soon as the door was opened, the wolf swallowed the grandmother with one big bite.
After changing into grandmother's clothes, the wolf laid in bed waiting for Little Red Riding Hood. "Where should I hide and wait? That's it! If I change myself as the grandmother, Little Red Riding Hood will think that I am her and will come close to me. Then I'll eat her with one bite."
Finally, Little Red Riding Hood arrived. "Grandmother, I'm here." With flowers in her hands, she went in. However, grandmother was laying in bed covered with a blanket. Little Red Riding Hood went near the grandmother.
However, a big ear was sticking out of the side of grandmother's hat. "Grandmother, grandmother! Why is your ear so big?" "So, I can hear your voice better with." The wolf that pretended as the grandmother answered kindly.
"Grandmother, why are your eyes so big?" "So I can see your cute face better with." "Grandmother, why is your hand so big?" "So I can hold you better with."
"Then why is your mouth so big?" "So I can easily eat you with." After saying that, the wolf swallowed Little Red with one bite.
The wolf that had eaten up Little Red Riding Hood and the grandmother suddenly became sleepy. "Since I'm full, should I get some sleep before I go?" The wolf began to snore and fall deep in sleep. Then, a hunter that was out hunting came to grandmother's house to get some water. He saw the big wolf sleeping on the bed. However, the wolf was sleeping away.
Somewhere, a human's voice could be heard. "Help me. Inside the wolf's stomach is a person." The hunter found scissors and cut open the wolf's stomach. Little Red Riding Hood and the grandmother came out of the stomach. "Yea! I'm alive! Thank you!" They thanked the hunter. Then, what could have happened to the wolf?

The kangaroo has a pouch where babies live until they can hop around on their own. Baby kangaroos are called joeys and are only the size of your thumb when they're born! Kangaroos live and travel in groups of up to 100.

A man has two dogs: a hound and a housedog. He trains the hound to help him hurt and teaches the housedog to watch the house. When he returns home after a day’s hunt, he always gives the house-dog some meat. The hound feels very angry. He says unhappily to the housedog, “Where I work very hard outside, you share my food.” “Don’t blame me, my friend. You should blame the master. He doesn’t teach me to hurt, but to share other’s food,” the housedog answers.
