1.扩大词汇量

词汇是构成语言的基本元素, 而句子则是表达意思的基本结构, 而学生阅读的每篇文章都是由句子构成的。所以能不能理解句子, 理解句与句之间的逻辑关系是能否真正读懂文章的关键, 换句话来说, 阅读能力的高低和词汇量的大小有关, 学生应该通过构词法, 包括派生、合成、转化和前后缀等方法来达到扩大词汇量的目的, 还有可以通过广泛的阅读和经常的练习来丰富扩大自己的词汇量。

2.培养良好的阅读习惯

英语阅读常用的方法有以下几种:

在阅读的过程中不可避免会遇到生词, 如果一遇到生词就查字典或忽略不看都会影响对文章的理解, 因此我们可以利用上下文中的同义关系、反义关系猜测词义根据整个句子的意义猜测词义以及利用语法知识、构词法知识等猜测来帮助我们来理解文章。

(2)略读

通过整体粗读,领略内容大意, 帮助理解, 为仔细的理解文章的内容做准备。寻找主题句, 获取大意, 找出每段的主题。一篇文章通常是围绕一个中心展开的。在进行阅读课教学时要有意识地培养学生找出主题句, 抓住中心, 使学生理解主题句与文章的具体事实细节的关系, 没有主题句的段落就引导学生依靠段落中的衔接、句际关系来分析、推断和概括段落的大意,从而达到整体理解的目的, 获得文章表达的正确的信息。

(3)寻读

即快速查找某一相关信息, 如年代、人名、地名、数字等做到心中有数, 对不相关的内容一带而过, 重点是掌握你想要得到的信息。

(4)细读

所谓细读, 就是要一句一句仔细地阅读, 抓住每一个细节, 注意语言结构, 处理语言点, 抓住主要事实, 关键信息, 揭示文章结构的内在联系, 帮助深化理解。一篇文章是一个有机的整体, 段落与段落之间存在着内在的紧密联系, 而每段的内容都与主题有着很重要的联系, 所以弄清文章结构上的问题,对于把握文章主题、文章大意非常重要。

(5)多了解英语国家的文化背景知识

文化背景知识对于正确理解文章内容起着很大的作用。因此, 教师应指导学生多读各类相关的书籍, 材料是最可靠最丰富的文化背景知识来源, 尤其是那些包含着丰富的文化内容的材料和短篇小故事。同时, 让学生观看一些英语影片, 尤其是介绍外国文化的短片。在教学中, 教师也要引导学生从习惯的英美文化背景中来学习语言, 否则学生表达出来的英语语言则是不规范的Chinese English。总之, 让学生尽可能多地了解英语国家的文化背景知识, 有利于英语阅读理解能力的提高。
