如何适应并且能教好 这套新教材，是摆在我们初中英语老师面前的一大课题。对如何教好这套教材我认为应注意 以下几方面。
（一）提高学生的学习兴趣。
著名外语教学专家H．H．Shem说，情感对外语学习的作用至少与认识技能同等重要，甚至更重要些。J ，H．Schuman甚至认为，情感与性格是启动认知技能发生作用必不可少的发动机。兴趣的培养和发展能使学生 有高昂的情绪，饱满的精神和旺盛的学习积极性。学生的学习兴趣不仅能转化为学习动机，而且也能促进学生 智能的发展，达到提高学习效果的目的。反之，学生若失去了学习兴趣，学习就不再是一件快乐之事，而是一 个沉重的包袱。因此在教学中必须不断创造能使学生产生浓厚兴趣的条件，环境和气氛。
1、明确学习目的，在运用中增强学习兴趣。
中学生年龄小，阅历少，对学习英语的目的往往不十分清楚。他们把英语只看作升学考试中要通过的一个 考试科目，对于难记的单词、语法和发音感到枯燥乏味，要使学生对英语学习产生兴趣，除了从道理上宣传英 语学习的重要性外，还要积极创造条件和环境使学生尽可能多地使用英语，让他们在运用中尝到乐趣。如开展 一些情景对话，值日生每天用英语汇报情况，在学习中组织一些英语游戏等。还要尽量组织好第二课堂活动， 如英语朗诵会，各种英语竞赛，学唱英文歌曲，阅读简易英文书报。辨认日常生活用品上持有的英语说明等。
2、轻松愉快的学习气氛和环境有利于培养学习兴趣。
心理学研究表明，轻松愉快的学习气氛能使学生以愉快的心境学习、思考并获得知识，它有利于培养学生 的学习兴趣。创造轻松愉快氛围的关键是使学生对教师有亲切感。教学不仅是教与学的关系，同时也是师生双方的感情 和思想的交流。师生关系直接制约学生的情感和意志，影响学生的认知活动。为学生所喜欢的老师一走进教室 ，课堂气氛就会显得活跃，学生的学习兴趣就会油然而生。因此，教师要重视感情投资，要以自己真挚的爱唤 起学生的共鸣，不以权威监督者的形象出现在学生面前，而应通
过自己的言行、表情传递给学生亲切、鼓励、 信任、尊重的情感信息，使得学生不怕出错误，敢于开口讲英语。
3、不断变换教学形式有利于保持学习兴趣。
一种美味如反复食用会让人倒胃口。同理，一种好的教学形式连续不断地使用也会使学生产生厌烦情绪。 从生理上讲，单一的形式容易导至大脑刺激的单调，使兴奋转化为抑制，降低学习效率。而从心理上讲，中学 生正处干活泼好动、喜欢变换的时期，再好的教学形式和练习形式，如简单重复太多，学生也会兴趣锐减。因 此，中学英语教学应根据学生的好奇、好动、好玩、好胜等特点和思维发展规律，采用多种形式，如做游戏、 讲故事、观看幻灯、录相、听录音、进行有趣的比赛和角色扮演、唱歌曲等。
如游戏，课堂上做游戏可帮助学生轻松有趣的活动中掌握一些较难记忆的语言项目。国内外语言游戏很多 ，一般可用"旧瓶装新酒"的方法根据情况进行改编。例如学了一些关于水果、蔬菜的名称，可以进行"传球 "游戏，一人先说自己爱吃的水果，再说别人爱吃的东西，被说到的人接着也先说自己再说别人，依次轮回， 要反应快速。例如：
S1：I like bananas. He likes apples. S2: I like apples. He likes oranges.
S3: I like oranges . She likes pears. S4: I like pears. He likes melons.
又如表演：（act）
一般说来初中生爱说爱表演，因此，在初中英语教学中尤其是对低年级，运用表演这一教学手段既能培养 学习兴趣，又能突出英语教学的实践性，交际性。
Act要表演得真，表演得象，不是演戏背台词而是生活中的交际。
如： Excuse me, are you American? Jim: No. I
'm English. Ling; My name is Ling Feng. Jim; I'm Jim-Jim Green. This is my friend,Bill-Bill

为了使学生的表演成功，我们还要注意以下几点：（1）教师要当好导演，作好示范，使表演收到表情达 意的效果，防止表演中枯燥乏味。（2）学生表演能力的培养，要从易到难逐步扩展，同时要面向全体学生。 可由老师编导，学生表演，充分体现教师为主导，学生为主体。（3）及时对学生的表演做出评价，坚持表扬 敢于上台表演的同学。要给同学们指出表演中的成功之处和不足之处。
（4）对表演有困难的同学，要鼓励， 要耐心，对表演出现的个别错误不要任意打断。可在表演之后给予纠正。
（二）重视语音，打好语音基础。
如果能够打下坚实的语音基础，也就拿到了英语入门的钥匙，也是练好听、说、读、写的基本功的基础。 教科书一开始就十分重视语音教学，紧密结合字母单词和句子的教学，系统地安排了语音练习。因此，我们教 师要正确把握要求，把语音教学贯穿于始终。把语音教学作为初一英语教学的主要任务之一。做到长期训练阶 段侧重，综合提高。在语音教学中教师应特别注意自身语音，充分发挥课本录音的作用。听音是语音教学的根 本方法，要坚持先听音后开口，做到听清发准。让学生在学语音的过程中尽可能地受到正确的语言熏陶。
（三）注意培养学生的交际能力。
交际能力是通过交际活动培养起来的。交际活动指用所学语言真实地、自由地交流思想，共同完成某项任 务。交际能力的培养是一个循序渐进的过程，而且要精心组织和精心设计，否则学生就动不起来，或动而无效 。交际能力的培养可以按照下列几方面的内容进行由浅入深的训练。
（1）一般打招呼和简单的客套话。如：Good morning! How are you？
（2）交流信息，a）介绍自己的好朋友，I have a good friend. He is in Class II。b）介绍自己的 住处，We live in Zhong Shan Road。c） 介绍过去的经历，I wentshopping Last Sunday。 d）介绍个人的 一个打算，I'm going
to visit Uncle Li。（3）讨论共识。（4）解决问题。（5）小品。（6）描写与辨 认。进而扩展到生活中的方方面面。在训练过程中教师应注意培养学生懂得并掌握在什么时候，什么地方，用 什么方式，对什么人讲什么话的实际运用能力。还应注意使学生了解并懂得尊重说英语国家人民的风俗习惯。
（四）要重视培养良好的学习习惯。
英语是一门实践性很强的课程，一门工具课。因此，英语学习在很大程度上是一种习惯养成的过程。良好 习惯的养成，一方面靠教师的示范，榜样作用。另一方面靠严格训练，持之以恒，养成良好的习惯。诸如认真 听录音和教师的示范发音。积极大胆地开口讲英语，勇于参加语音实践活动，朗读背诵课文时既要声音响亮又 注意语音、语调、节奏、书写规范等。
（五）要重视单元检测，保证新教材的教学质量。
在教学过程中，教师应对每一教学单元进行教学检测，通过这种手段测试学生对所学知识、技能、技巧和 能力的真实和综合应用程度。为了达到这个目的、教师应对测试提出具体的知识、技能、技巧和能力各方面的 要求。
知识方面，要求学生全面地、系统地掌握该单元的基础知识，尤其是课本中的"四会"内容。技能方面。 要求学生运用所学语言、词汇、语法知识在听、说、读、写方面体现出来。技巧方面，要求学生在技能基础上 ，循环往复，达
到对技能的熟练掌握，使技能的运用自动化。能力方面，要求学生在知识、技能和技巧的基础 上，要有综合能力，即能把三者结合起来，为交际初步运用英语。
要做好单元检测，就要求教师必须努力、钻研教材，吃透教材，依据《大纲》，明确知识、语言范围。注 意传授知识的深度和广度。要让学生知道每个单元的教学重点，并准确地讲解和反复地操练。教师要精心设计 或选用检测试题。试题要力求符合《大纲》和教材的要求。既要全面，又要突出重点，难易要适中，能够较全 面地检测学生听、说、读、写能力和初步运用英语的交际能力。要做好检测后的讲评工作。
