My topic is Honesty. As a correspondent of the Qing Morning News, I visited Dr. James Gilman, the President of the International Committee for Marco Polo Studies in England. In this picture, this is James, and this is me and we are looking at a dragon’s tooth. This is a true story. /chuzhong/chusan/ 65 years ago, James lived in Qing.
Then he was only 5 years old. He often visited the Aquarium and was fascinated by a creature on display there, which he thought was a dragon. He was afraid of its sharp teeth and wanted one to keep as a treasure. In the late 1930s, when the Japanese occupied Qing, his family had to leave. On his last day in Qing, he ran to the Aquarium and pulled out one of the teeth from the dragon’s mouth. He kept the tooth for the next 65 years, but the feeling of guilt at having stolen it was there in the background all through his life. It was always on his conscience, and the feeling intensified as he became older. Finally he decided to put right his childish error.
In 20xx, he visited Qing and returned it to the Aquarium with his sincere apologies. He received a warm welcome. When James visited Qing, I accompanied him all the time and reported on his visit. I was deeply touched by his honesty. It has taught me a lot. I think to err is human. The important thing is to have the courage to admit and correct one’s error. Honesty is a vital quality of human behaviour. So we should try to keep an honest mind in everything we say and do. 半年的共同学习，使我半喜半忧，喜的是，我们高一三班的学生都很聪明，接受能力强，学习起来显得很轻松，让我觉得忧虑的是：部分孩子对英语不太重视。（包括与个别家长的交流中，发现有家长也未重视）可能这里也包含许多家长觉得英语不太好辅导，你说语文数学吧，还懂点，这英语吧，还真是不好不懂装懂，所以导致相当一部分的孩子英语基础打得很不牢，个别的孩子甚至拼读、书写、背诵等学习英语的好习惯还没有很好的养成，需要从头开始。但是，孩子们上课时的专注同时也让我感到欣喜。认真的孩子一定能把英语学好！

新教材与初中的教材跨度很大，要求也上了几个台阶，对孩子们具有比较大的难度。细心的家长可能就会发现，高中的课本和初中的课本相比，无论是从词汇量，语法还是课文篇幅的长短都有了明显的区别，初中的内容相当简单，它简直就是三年级知识的巩固，稍微有所延伸，而高一一下子就接触并需要掌握两种时态。所以，有些同学很不能适应，初中学得轻松，还考好成绩，怎么到了高一不行了，这样的现象很普遍，说到底，还是好的习惯没有养成，不够勤奋。在这里，我要点名表扬几位学生，她们学习态度端正，上课认真，书写工整，正因为如此，无论什么考试都能取得很好的成绩。另外我还要提几个同学，他们的潜力很大，但因为还不够认真刻苦，所以没有发挥出自己最好的水平，希望家长能够配合老师，把孩子的成绩抓上去。我坚信：如果您的孩子在您的支持和我的指导下能够及时完成我布置的任务，那么一定能学好。要教导您的孩子一开始就要有吃苦耐劳的精神。坚持严谨的学习作风，成绩马上就会见效。
目前的形势决定了英语学科的重要性，请各位家长务必重视英语这一学科，你们思想上重视了，无形中也给孩子以熏陶，重视与不重视肯定是完全不同的，在英语课堂上，大部分学生都能很活跃的回答老师提出的问题，积极跟着老师拼读单词，朗读课文。其实这也制造了一种假象，学生认为自己常常被老师提问，认为自己能够回答老师的问题，于是认为自己的英语学得很不错，自我感觉特别好。于是下课后在英语上花的时间就少了。其实要学好英语，课上占40%，其余的60%还需要学生在课后不断的巩固，加深记忆。在课上老师更多的是教授新知识，当然课上也会有少量的时间巩固新学的知识。但是这些时间是公共的时间，而不是每个学生私有的时间，所以不可能照顾到每个学生，不可能让所有学生都达到相同的程度。况且每个学生对新知识得接受能力都是不同的，有的可能当堂就已经有很深的印象，很难忘记，但这肯定是很少的。大部分学生都只能是初步接触了新知识，要真正接受新知识还要学生在课后多下功夫，不然肯定会和别的同学拉下差距。
那么在课后学生到底该怎么做才能把其余的60%补回来呢？英语毕竟不是我们自己的语言，大多数学生除了英语课其余时间根本就不会想到要说英语，所以，在课后一定要主动抽时间为自己补习英语。学好英语，不外乎就是在听，说，读，写这些方面下功夫。
首先说一下听，每个学生都有和书相配套的磁带，可是请各位家长检查一下自己的子女的英语磁带，有多少学生的磁带还是和刚发的时候一样的，根本就没有听过。不要说另外买什么英语听力磁带或者英语学习的碟片了，连自己手头的磁带都不去听，光靠上课听一点点的磁带，学生的听力根本就不能有什么发展。不会听就不能说，而说白了，学了英语就是要说，那不是白学了么？听录音机跟读，目的应该是两种，一种同学是上课没有完全消化，听录音是补充学习的过程，另外一种是提高自己的听力和口语表达能力，要学生尽力地去模仿录音机里的发音，从而使自己的听力和口语都提高一个层次。
接下来是说，英语是一门语言，学了就是要说，要和别人交流。我们学的英语不应该是哑巴英语，要让每个学生学会勇敢地说出来。在课上我会用各种方法来刺激学生，激发他们说英语的积极性，大多数学生也确实做得很好。可是班级里人多，对每个人来说，说的机会就少。所以下课也要说；放学回家也要说。在学校，我鼓励学生把所学的英语对话运用到生活中去，这样有更真实的情景，更能让学生有发挥的余地。在家里，希望家长也能鼓励学生说英语，也许你会说你自己也听不懂，请不要这样想，其实学生需要是你的鼓励，你听了他们说的只要简单表扬一句，他们就会很满足了。有时候你们也可以不懂装懂，或者还可以让学生反过来教你，他们会觉得很自豪，因为自己所学得派上了用场。
接下来是读。有句话：“读书破万卷，下笔如有神。”学英语也是这样，很多家长也明白，学英语要培养语感，也就是语言的感觉，如果有很好的语感，那么不管是说话，做题目，还是写文章，都很轻松，很简单了。那么语感怎么来呢？就是靠读出来的。一定要让学生养成每天读英语的习惯，这是学英语的最基本的学习习惯了。每天早上一定要读20分钟左右的英语，哪怕有时候时间来不及了，即使是迟到也要读，并且每天都坚持，绝不因任何原因间断。无论什么事情都贵在坚持嘛。如果你的子女还没有养成这样的学习习惯，请你一定要督促他，刚开始也许会比较难，时间久了，就会习惯成自然。就像早上起来要刷牙洗脸一样，要让他们把读英语当作每天必做的一件事。
最后是写。主要就是单词短语的默写，这是学英语的必经之路。单词往往背过就容易会忘记，所以要不断的背默写，不断的翻新，这是没有办法的。背单词的时候要边拼边写，嘴巴和手都要动起来，嘴上十遍不如手上一遍。家长在这里要作好检查督促的工作，不要用不懂英语来帮助你的孩子学会偷懒，你可以报中文，让你的孩子默写，然后对照书本批改订正，每天坚持的话，你一定会有意想不到的效果。还有句型，学生应该在课上领会句型的意思和运用方法。课后还需要通过多读课文，多练习才能巩固所学的句型。所以请各位家长不光要注重孩子背单词短语的情况，还要让他重视句子的重要性。

本套教材在保留SEFC基础上，根据当前教改精神而进行重新编写，它较好地衔接了已实施三年的初中义务教育教材，体现了“中小学英语教学一条__”的设想。本单元围绕 Life in the future（未来的生活）这一主题开展听、说、读、写多种教学活动。随着人类文明的进步，未来社会人们的生活方式将如何发展，人们的生活究竟是什么样的情形，这是一个非常贴近生活、具有时代性、可挖掘性的教学主题。语言素材涉及人类生存方式的不断演变，具有典型的时代气息，有喊雹灶利于学生了解生活，展开想象。素材选择兼顾学生的'肆烂知识面，已有词汇、生活经历等，体现了教材编写的"以学生为中心"，及"听说，读写跟上"的教学理念。
（二）教学目标：
理论依据：《新课程标准》（实验稿）
根据《新课程标准》（实验稿）关于总目标的具体描述，结合高二学生实际和教材内容，我们分语言知识、语言技能、学习策略、情感态度、四个方面制定相应教学目标：
（1）语言知识：

（1）Pre-task:引入话题，激活学生知识网络和扫清词汇障碍，明确学习任务和任务完成的步骤，激发学习英语兴趣。
学生：认知处于主动状态，有完成任务的强烈愿望。
教师：学习的组织者、促进者；善导、激趣的过程。
（2）Task-cycle:任务的完成过程。
学生：用英语做事，运用体验、参与、合作、郑扮实践、交流、探究等方式进行自主学习的过程，发展听、说、读、写综合英语技能。
教师：指导者、帮助者、参与者、合作者的角色；引思的过程。
（3）Post-task:展示成果，交流成果的过程。
学生：体验成功和喜税，自我评价、小组评价、认识自己、树立自信、反思自己、调控自己。
老师：评价者、总结者；总结教学中的成功与不足；发现学生学习中的问题与不足；精讲过程。

各位评委老师，上午好，我是3号考生，今天我说课的内容是外研版高二必修5 Carnival 的Reading 部分The magic of the mask. 我计划用两课时来完成本部分的教学，用一课时来读懂课文，一课时处理语言点，下面我要说的是对第一课时的安排与处理。
一. 教学背景
教学对象是高二普班学生，英语基础知识和基本技能都是一般水平，学生对英语学习兴趣不浓，因此，以调动学生的学习兴趣，学生主动学习为目标。
二.教材分析
(一)教学内容的地位与作用
本课以“Carnival”为话题，模块在Introction部分通过四个说的活动引入了有关西方节日的词汇，为Reading部分The magic of the mask 的学习做好了词汇与情感的铺垫。
本节阅读课是本模块的主要内容，本文围绕carnival这一主题，主要通过威尼斯这一国家的狂欢节，来使学生认识西方国家的节日及其特点。我设计的这节课主要是利用多媒体通过图片及其庆祝场面向大家展示这一节日。在对其有所了解的情况下，在带领学生共同学习课文，通过对西方节日身临其境的感受，学生理解课文较轻松较容易。利用网络资源使学生的`学习活动变得多元化，学生更乐于自主学习，主动思考，而达到了乐于协作，勇于创新的学习效果。
(二)教学目标分析 (Teaching goals)
根据《新课标》总目标的描述和教学大纲的要求，结合本课的内容和学生实际情况，我确定了以下教学目标：
1.知识与能力目标：
1)训练学生的阅读技巧，提高学生组织与分析文章的阅读能力;
2)在阅读中通过语境识别新词汇并推断其意思。
2. 过程与方法：培养学生独立阅读的能力,通过自主学习,协作学习来获取信息和处理信息的能力
3. 情感、态度与价值观：让学生更多的了解中国的节日、西方的节日，从而了解世界上其他各个国家的节日。
(三)教学重难点(Teaching Importance and Teaching Difficulty)
教学重点：
1)训练学生的阅读技巧(包括速读、略读、查读等);
2)理解有关狂欢节的描述、起源和历史沿革。
教学难点：用自己的语言总结课文的大意。
三. 说教法(Teaching Methods)
新课标倡导的任务型教学，点拨启发式的教学，借助多媒体展开教学活动。本节课我本着“教师主导，学生主体，师生互动”的原则，分别设计了问答题、讨论题，和口头表述的任务。让学生在我的引导下，积极去讨论，去发现，去归纳文章的内容和发掘内涵。从而实现对文章的整体理解，改变过去只注重语言点，而忽略文章内容的传统教法。
四.说学法(Learning Methods)
外语作为工具学科，它的特点就是要听、说、读、写并举。所以，在学习方法上，我注意引导他们，积极参加讨论，敢于动口，同时，掌握一些基本的阅读技巧，培养学生善于运用所学知识来分析和解决问题的能力;通过小组形式完成多种活动，培养探究和合作意识与能力。

Step1 复习导入
教学程序：播放歌曲《恭喜发财》，然后问学生，what kind of festivals can you think of while listening to the song?然后引导学生说出更多关于春节的词汇， 并在电脑上给出与庆祝春节场面有关的三个图片，同时给出这样的问题：think of these scenes,you can think of the spring festival. Then what can you think of seeing the ne__t pictures?接下来在电脑上给出风格各异的狂欢节面具的图片。
设计意图：复习上节课所学的内容，为本节课的学习做铺垫。既复习了上节课涉及到的词汇，又很自然地进入到今天主要谈论的话题。图片的展示能更直观地让学生获取信息。准备工作能为整个项目的学习创造气愤、激发兴趣以及指出思维方向，更重要的是，它能训练联想、对比和归纳等认知策略。
Step2:明确目标
教学程序：在电脑屏幕上给出本节课的学习目标。
1. Master the features of Carnival.
2. Analyze and understand the reading material.
3. Guess the meaning of some new words in this passage.
设计意图：给出学生明确的教学目标，使学生能够了解本节课应该学些什么，应该从哪个角度去学习。
Step3: 速读(Skimming)
教学程序：找出每段的主题句
设计意图：训练学生快速阅读能力, 使学生初步感知课文内容，为进一步的阅读理解打下基础。这初步的突破了本节课的一个重点。
Step4: 查读(Scanning)
教学程序：阅读课文的前三段，主要通过design -ask –answer的方法，用小组讨论的形式，同时在电脑屏幕上给出讨论的关键词汇，when, where, what, how。
设计意图：训练学生的查读能力, 小组讨论的活动方式能够提高学生的合作意识，在讨论中共享信息，相互学习。给出关键词汇，学生很容易知道在这部分介绍了节日最基本的信息，when to celebrate, where to origin from, what to do
Step 5 细节理解
教学程序：分别阅读课文四五六段，引导学生对狂欢节进行更进一步的理解。阅读第四段，通过18century三个时间段找出对于戴面具的法律，从men 到 people再到complete ban，戴面具逐渐的被完全禁止，成了一种回忆的;然后给出问题who revived Carnival? When was it revived? 学生从第五段很容易就能找出问题的答案。然后进一步的给学生设置问题。同时在电脑屏幕上给出关键词，time, people, hotel, streets, the main languages, the key. 让学生通过听的形式来了解今天的威尼斯怎么庆祝狂欢节的。
设计意图：通过层层深入，环环相扣的问题加深了学生对文章细节信息的理解。同时这一活动培养学生的合作精神和总结能力。同时使课文内容化繁为简，思路清晰，使学生进一步的了解狂欢节的历史沿革。在此初步的突破了本文的一个难点。

1、同桌间讨论：说说为什么我会视某某为我的`好朋友。The reason why I regard …as my best friend is …。学生以自身感受会作出各种各样或长或短的回答。
2、播放美文朗读Forever Friends，提问：“对于文章中哪句话印象最为深刻？”
①播放配乐朗读Forever Friends。听之前引导学生关注自己印象最深的一句句子。
②请学生反馈感受。各抒己见。
③总结：好朋友之于我们的人生是如此重要，我们又如何能够交到这样的好朋友。从而引出课文学习。
（三）明确教学目标。承上启下，让学生了解本堂课所要达成的目标。一是从课文中学会如何对待朋友如何同朋友交往，二是了解友谊在人生中的重要意义，三是通过友谊这一主题使学生体会到语言文字的魅力。
（四）研读学习课文的具体流程
1、解决预习时所产生的问题，梳理单词短语。
△将生词gorgeous；genuinely；respond；approachable；spotlight；compliment；brag about；go for；care about；feel at ease；catch up with；zero in on；get a word in edgewise；focus on；light up；tear down通过快速应答的练习，解决预习中所产生的问题。
△通过句子填空练习，加深学生对于这些生词的掌握。
2、提问预习问题，指导学生用跳读方法，抓关键词句，培养学生概括归纳的能力。
1）What was it about Jamie that made everyone notice her？提醒学生强调句的特殊疑问句
2）Going along with this big secret of making friends are a few additional strategies.提醒学生注意此句是一个倒装句
3） It only takes a minute to give someone a compliment or to notice what gifts a person has.提醒学生注意句型：it takes / took + time +（for sb。）to do sth。
3、结合课本上的图表填空练习，让学生理解体会全文内容大意。以跳读法的运用锻炼学生在语段中找出主题句、关键词的能力。
4、建立在理解课文的基础上，完成对课文内容的概括。《新课标》中指出，不能将词汇教学同课文阅读割裂开来。课文大意的概括是建立在了解文章通篇大意的基础上的填空练习，从而加强了学生对于所学的单词短语的记忆。
5、以小组合作的形式完成谚语搭配的任务，并朗读。以经典的谚语使学生对于所学内容有所提升。
（五）对整堂课进行总结并且对学生的表现进行点评。

She is very charming with a sweet beautiful voice and very famous for singing the song.“Devotion of Love”。 Not long ago,she was invited to Zhejiang Province to give performance. The moment she was to appear on the stage,she suddenly asked for more reward. Worse still,after her request was satisfied, she didnt begin to sing at once. Instead,she took her time to count all the money piece by piece. Thus she kept the audience waiting for half an hour. So when she at last showed up and started to sing “Devotion of Love”，a man rose up from his seat and shouted at her,“You dont have any devotion of love. You are not qualified to sing this song ! ”Hearing this, the singer stopped singing and began to shout abuses with her finger pointed at the man. At this time the whole audience burst into an uproar.
How disappointed her keen listeners were when they learned this! It is the singer herself who spoiled her beautiful image in the eyes of others.
Now, Im coming to another true story. Its about a poor, ordinary looking old woman. She was a widow without any children, living barely from hand to mouth by picking odds and ends from rubbish heaps. However,she took in more than ten homeless orphans successively and managed to bring them up. Every day she labored from morning till night. In order to earn as much money as possible to raise the children and to keep them in school,she even went to a hospital regularly to sell her blood. She got so weak for the loss of blood that she sometimes fell in a faint on her way home.
When asked why she chose to burden herself with so many children,she smiled and simply answered,“Oh,I love children and I like to have their company. ”
Though the old woman was poor materially, she was full of affection and rich in spirit. She was loved dearly by her children. She was also highly appreciated by the local government, and truly respected by people in her community.

On the night of March 1, the 76th Annual Academy Awards was shown on television. After watching it, I had a dream, a sudden wish, that some day, I could receive an Oscar award, or a nomination, for a movie I've made.
While I was schooling in Australia, my friends from school and I received a n assignment one day, "To make a ten to twenty minute movie on the topic of your choice." At the time, the trend was based around the popular Matrix movie trilogy, so that became our obvious choice.
Because our schele was very tight, and it was a first time experience, we found it all very hard work, but when we released our proction at school, it was worth it. After my friends and I showed the movie, we could not get from one end of the school to the other without getting congratulated about five or six times. We, especially I, were proud. We made a school-wide sensation.
From then on, I became obsessed with how to make movies and how filming is done. I just wanted to know about everyone and everything that has something to do with movies. I would watch a movie four to five times, just to find out how one camera angle, or special effect was proced. I found everything I watched quite amazing. I sometimes admired directors and procers of these films because the techniques they use are so smart. Their cleverness inspired me to make and act in movies.
When I become little bit older, I would like to attend a movie academy in Beijing or Shanghai, then America, or England, after some training and experience, I would like to make a movie, which will most likely be an action movie, which is my favorite kind of movie to watch.. If I am lucky, I hope I would get an Oscar Award for this movie. I think that would be quite a challenge, but it’s not impossible. For now, it’s back to watching movies over and over again for me!

I’m honored to share my feelings with you about Beijing Olympic games. The title of the speech is: A Scene to look forward I would like to begin with a story.
There was an elder who traveled all around the world to introce China for bidding Olympic games. That special hard experience had rooted in his mind. After hearing the good news that China succeeded in the bid for hosting the 29th Olympic Games, he was so excited that he could not stop shedding tears, saying I had been waiting for the day since 1993, the happiest thing finally happened to China. The man is Mr. HeZhenliang, who has devoted his rest life to Chinese Olympic Games. It is with his spirit, passion, courage and strong sense of patriotism to China that we are taking our next step into the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, now I have a question for all of you who are sitting here. Do you still remember that memorable scene? Yes or no? Please put out your hands, let me see how many? Wow, a lot of people. The unforgettable moment is still lingering in your mind clearly.
At 10:08 P.M. on July 13th, 2001, Mr. Samaranch, the former President of the International Olympic Committee, announced in Moscow that the sponsoring city of the 29th Olympiad will be the city of Beijing. Just at the same time in China, the excitement rippled through the Olympic conference room into Beijing, into the city and into the whole nation. The Chinese, abroad or at home, celebrated the successful great moment in various ways, like hugging each other, jumping, yelling, crying, drinking, singing, dancing and parading on the streets in the midnight. Modern China, a proct of 5000 years of civilization and history, with her spirit of hard work and perseverance, finally shook hands with the Olympic games, fulfilling the long expected dream.
Now many Chinese are trying their best to do what they can do for the upcoming games. They learn English to communicate with foreigners. They get rid of bad habits to protect environments. They are eager to be volunteers to serve the Olympic Games. They introce great Chinese tradition, culture and civilization to the world people. They apply for the torchbearers to carry on the message “share the peace, share the Olympics”.
At the moment when one-year countdown has marked, our Chinese people are getting ready for this big event. The Beijing Olympic committee organization is keeping the promise made in the bid. Under the guidance of the concept of the green Olympic, the tech-Olympic and the people’s Olympic, the 29th Olympic games will strengthen the communication, enhance the cooperation, and shorten the distance between China and the world.
Once again, I want to emphasize one point “national participation”. Like us, a common citizen, we strongly realize the responsibility of our own: planting more trees to cover the space, driving less to relieve the traffic jam, making full use of energy to rece the pollution and so on. All these actions will not only improve our living environments, but also benefit our coming generation.
Next year in August 8th, Beijing will witness the world’s greatest sporting event, will bring Olympic values to one-fifth of the world’s population, will be one of the most exciting projects in Olympic history. Beijing, a main attraction to tourists, will stretch hands to give the world people a warm welcome, and all the guests will be impressed deeply by China’s state-of-the-art venues, comfortable city environments, enthusiastic volunteers and overwhelming public interest.
No matter who we are, what we do, where we go, in our mind, there’s always a scene to look forward, a scene worth our effort to wait for.
