Rats can use the rhythm of human language to tell the difference between Dutch and Japanese, researchers in Spain reported.
Their study suggests that animals, especially mammals, evolved some of the skills underlying the use and development of language long before language itself ever evolved, the researchers said.

教具准備:
1 教師准備動物玩具 rabbit, panda, monkey, dog, ck 等放置於一個籃子中。
2 教師准備有關動物圖片和卡片。
3 教師准備Let』s talk部分和有關動物的教學課件。
4 教師准備教材錄音帶。
教學過程:
1 熱身、復習 (Warm-up/Revision)
(1)教師播放 Recycle 1----Let』s sing 的錄音,師生共同演唱歌曲 How Are You?, 並伴有打節拍等動作。
(2)學生口語表演。教師給學生3分鍾左右的時間,讓學生根據所學內容自編會話。(若課上沒有準備的時間,教師可留口頭家庭作業,讓學生頭一天准備。)在學生准備完畢後進行課上表演。會話內容為所學知識的總和,也可鼓勵學生將課外知識引入。以下提供兩個簡單的會話內容:
a. ----Good afternoon, Fang Fang.
----Good afternoon, Lan Lan.
----Lan Lan, this is Dong Dong. He is new.
----Hi, Dong Dong. Nice to meet you.
----Nice to meet you, too.
b. ----Hello, Bai Ling. How are you?
---- Hi, I』m fine, thank you. And you?
----Very well, thank you.
(3)教師播放 Recycle 1---- chant and find! 的錄音,師生同說此段內容。
(4)游戲:SHOW ME YOUR… 【學生使用自己准備好的文具實物】
教師先示範說單詞,如pencil ,教師說Show me your pencils. 學生出示鉛筆,又快又正確的同學為小組贏得一分。用同樣的方法找學生說其它文具單詞的口令,繼續游戲。(注意:教師應參加學生的游戲,與學生一起展示文具。)
2 呈現新課 (Presentation)
(1)教師舉起自己的鋼筆說:Look!I have a pen. 請學生用Look!I have a … 的句型再次復習文具。
(2)教師拿出准備好的籃子,籃子中有rabbit, panda, monkey, dog, ck 等動物玩具。教師將籃子舉起,興奮地說:Look! Wow! I have so many animals. I love animals. 教師拿起 panda 說:Look! Ihave a panda. 教師教授新單詞 panda ,a panda ,I have a panda.
(3)用同樣的方法講授新單詞rabbit, monkey, dog, ck 等。學習單詞時,讓學生手舉玩具與老師一起說。其中以 rabbit, monkey為主。在說新單詞時教師鼓勵學生用完整句表述,如:I have a panda/monkey.
(這些單詞本課時只要求學生能聽懂,會說。 認讀則放在第二課時。)
(4)再次認讀單詞。教師用動物的圖片製成教學課件。教師點擊滑鼠,每點擊滑鼠一次,屏幕上出現一個圖案和相應單詞。教師讓學生按圖案認讀單詞 rabbit, monkey, dog, ck, panda, cat 。第七次點擊滑鼠時,前六幅圖案同時出現並閃動,一兩秒鍾後屏幕出現 animals 一詞。此時教師說單詞 Rabbit, monkey, dog,ck, panda, cat , they are animals. They are in the zoo. 教師說到 zoo 時,再次點擊滑鼠,屏幕上出現動物園的圖案和單詞。
在開始呈現獨個動物圖片時,教師可讓學生猜猜看,根據學生猜的情況教師適時帶領學生用感嘆語 Wow!Cool! Great! Super! 。比如學生猜的是小兔子時,屏幕上出現的也是一隻可愛的小兔子,教師感嘆道:Wow! Look! It』s a rabbit. 另外,學生在第二和第三單元接觸過 Wow! Great! 兩個感嘆語,當看到可愛或誇張的圖片時也會情不自禁的感嘆。教師可因勢利導的再教兩個有關贊美的感嘆語 Cool! 和 Super! 告訴學生時下中文最時髦的說法「好酷啊!」中的「酷」既是英文的Cool! 一詞的譯音。而「Super! 」可翻 譯成「好極了!」「棒極了!」等等。
(5)教師播放Let』s talk/ A部分的課件。播放之前提出要求:
你能聽到或看到幾種動物?How many animals?
你會說其中的哪種動物? Can you say in English?
你能說說其中還有你會的內容嗎?Anything else?
(6)再次觀看,讓學生試著跟說。
(7)播放教學錄音,學生模仿錄音說對話。注意模仿語音正確、語調自然。
3 趣味操練 (Practice)
(1)教師讓學生手拿自己的玩具,兩至四人一組練習說 Look!I have a rabbit / dog …
(2)教師讓學生將玩具交換,並把自己新得到的玩具隨意展示給某個同學看,或教師指定一名學生將新玩具展示給其他同學看。邊展示邊說: Look!I have a rabbit / dog … ,聽者用感嘆詞Wow! Cool! Great!Super! 做出反應,並發出這種動物的聲音。教師還可以發揮學生表演才能,比一比,看誰模仿的動物叫聲及形體特徵最逼真。
(3)讓學生打開書40頁,教師帶讀書上 Let』s play 部分的象聲詞 Woof! Woof! Mew! Mew! Quack!Quack! , 隨後教師讓學生兩人一組,按照課本中所呈現的方式,扮演小動物,進行練習。最後找同學上台前表演此部分內容。
4 課堂評價 (Assessment)
做活動手冊本單元第一部分的練習,方法和步驟同以前。
5 擴展性活動(Add-activities)
誰最像?
教師請學生上台模仿小動物的聲音或動作,如果叫Mew! Mew! 其他學生馬上說出單詞:Cat! Cat! 有小貓玩具的同學,手舉實物說句子Look! I have a cat! 其他學生運用所學的感嘆語發出Wow!/Cool!/Super!/Great! 然後教師再請另外的學生上台來模仿小狗,小鴨的叫聲,其他同學配合表演。最後,評出誰模仿得最逼真生動,教師獎勵動物圖片,以提高學生的積極性。
