初三英語閱讀理解【1】
There are over 800 boarding (寄宿) schools in the UK with students from home and foreign countries. Boarding schools started hundreds of years ago in the country. But the earliest boarding schools were set up for white, rich boys only. Now both boys and girls can go to boarding schools from the age of 7 to 18.
What to do
In the UK, boarding schools have three terms in a school year, with about 13 weeks in each term. Students study and live together. They can’t go outside if they are not allowed to. In some schools, each student has his or her subject plan. Besides the usual classrooms and laboratories, the boarding schools have lots of other facilities for their students, including music rooms, boats, swimming pools, cinemas and theatres. Most boarding schools have a “light out” time. So when it’s time to go to bed, all the lights in the bedrooms are turned off. There are house-masters to take care of students all the time, especially after school hours.
What to wear
Nearly all students at boarding schools wear a school uniform. Boys usually wear a shirt and a tie, and girls wear a white blouse, sometimes also a tie and a skirt. As students get older, the rules become less strict.

In the UK, boarding schools provide students with delicious food. They can choose to have a full English breakfast or simply bread. They can also choose between a meal with no meat and another meal at lunch and dinner. And there is always self-service for salad (沙拉), other side dishes and a dessert. A friend of mine named Paul received an expensive car from his brother as a Christmas present. On Christmas Eve when Paul came out of his office, a street urchin (頑童) was walking around the shining car. “Is this your car, Paul?” he asked.
Paul answered, “Yes, my brother gave it to me for Christmas.” The boy was surprised. “You mean your brother gave it to you and it cost you nothing? Boy, I wish…” He hesitated (猶豫).
Of course Paul knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that. But what the boy said surprised Paul greatly.
“I wish,” the boy went on, “that I could be a brother like that.” Paul looked at the boy in surprise, and then he said again, “Would you like to take a ride in my car?”
“Oh yes, I’d love that.”
After a short ride, the boy turned around with his eyes shining, said, “Paul, would you mind driving in front of my house?”
Paul smiled a little. He thought he knew what the boy wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big car. But Paul was wrong again. “Will you stop where those two steps are?” the boy asked.
He ran up to the steps. Then in a short while Paul heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled (殘疾的) brother. He sat him down on the step and pointed to the car.

When I was a foreign teacher in China, every day I taught English to my students and they taught me about China. One day the topic turned to saying “I love you”. I was shocked to learn that not one of my students had said this to their mothers, nor had their mothers said it to them. “Does your mom love you?” “Of course,”they answered.
“How do you know ?”was my logical question. They responded that their mons cooked and always told them what they were doing wrong to show their caring. I was stunned .So mon’s cooking and criticzing read out as “I love you ”. “Then how do you say ‘I love you ’to her?” They agreed that getting good grades, followed by god jobs would be how they showed their love.
I come from a culture where most people are expressive enough, so I repeated these queries in classes over time. Graally, I began to get different response. Some of them had exchanged those sentiments with their moms.
One of my favorite stories of change came from a girl. When she came home from university, her mother met her at the door and hugged(擁抱)her. This had never happened before, but her mom said, “Now that you have gone I have more time to myself. I noticed that in some places mothers and children hug each other and I decided it was a good idea and that I would begin hugging you.”
In my family we all say “I love you” a lot .While it is true that we often say the words without having great depth of feelings at that moment, it is almost like a blessing we give each other. Those three little words carry a world of meaning ,even when said as a greeting, but most especially if they are the last words we say to or hear from those we love.

我本身也是英語專業的，建議你要一邊聽、看，一邊寫，還有多看一些英文報紙，如China daily，21st century,可能有些難，但你可以選些簡單，感興趣的來看，可以從中學到很多。希望對你能有所幫助。

相信很多剛開始英語啟蒙抑或是已經過了啟蒙階段的家長，對於英語閱讀都多多少少存在過疑問。
什麼時候開始讀？
讀什麼？
怎麼讀？
閱讀重要還是口語重要？
我們學習母語的過程：會聽-會說-會認-會讀。
非母語的學習，在聽上面我們不佔優勢沒有先天的語言環境，自然說的部分也會在前期大打折扣。

01 你不必走的彎路
在選擇送卡姐去機構前，她爸爸和我目標明確：幼兒啟蒙一定要有標準的發音,最怕的是雖然會說但滿口塑料味。可能是因為我們的執念太深，所以並不是很看重啟蒙階段的教學內容。試聽了多家機構後，爸爸又在同一家機構試聽了4次，挑了一個發音和授課都很滿意的美國老師（也是卡姐人生中第一個老師）萬事俱備只等上課，一節課下來孩子上得快樂，大人看得開心，回家把教的單詞句子復習幾遍，書一關！大功告成了！我以為我能做到的也就如此了！
因為去機構前有家庭啟蒙的關系，所以上起課來並不吃力，感覺玩著玩著一節課就結束了。偶爾還得到老師的表揚，突然就有點飄了。心想，卡姐還不滿3歲，能跟上老師的節奏還表現突出，老母親這錢沒白花。小半年後問題來了，老師說的話她能明白，但是表達的時候來來回回就那幾句，還要邊說邊比劃。這才意識到，輸入太少了，靠課堂里的內容根本不夠，開始給她買英文繪本。
怎麼選繪本？「投其所好」，選購方式可參考「i+1」原則，簡單來說就是在可理解范圍內，稍微的增加難度。讓孩子既能大致明白，又不至於失去興趣，+1的部分就是你即將要開始探究的新領域，慢慢的閱讀能力也逐步提升。不建議0基礎一來就分級閱讀讀，除了初級趣味性不足以外，還有一個重要的原因，0基礎的孩子不會結合已知詞彙猜測大意，更是大大減少閱讀興趣。下面有圖有真相，看了就明白了。

02 培養閱讀興趣
卡姐的第一本英文繪本是《Go Away，Big Green Monster》
頁面設計巧妙，內容也很有趣。先是爸爸讀，她看圖片，幫助她理解句子的意思和不懂的單詞。大概重復了一周之後，開始教她一句一句的讀，每天教2頁。直到這本書能自己磕磕巴巴讀完，然後是每天自己閱讀復習。直到能很流利的讀完後，我發現她開始對內容有了更深的理解，從她戲精般的神情就能看出來。接著同樣的方法又繼續閱讀了《I am a bunny》系列的所有繪本
接著是《NO，DAVID》，《How do you feel》等等。慢慢的越來越喜歡讀英文繪本，當然這也和我們每天拍她馬屁有關，可能這種彩虹屁太多了，她無處安放的喜悅都要溢出來了！
有次跟我去超市，本來走得好好的，突然看到收銀台人多，湊過去就開始讀繪本里的內容，哈哈哈，可是老頭老太太們忙著付錢，沒人搭理她，但人家熱情依然不減，這種情況又出現過好幾次。老母親只好笑笑，迅速把她拉走，然後悄悄的接著又是一通馬屁，拍得她找不到東南西北。
閱讀的好處並不是短期能呈現的，需要時間的積累和不斷的重復，但是語感是短期內能比較明顯體現出來的。

03 重點推薦
前面的准備都是接下來的伏筆，新手家長可以拿起你手中的小本本。
每篇文章我都不同程度的提到了分級閱讀，我又要來再啰嗦一遍。不想看字的直接跳過，直接去文章末尾按步驟領分級閱讀資料吧。
分級閱讀是雞娃界的頭號扛把子， 出自不同門派卻有著同樣的江湖地位，很難說誰好誰差。分級閱讀具有科學性、針對性及系統性。隨著分級讀物級別的提升，孩子攝入的詞彙量從易到難、句子從短到長、閱讀理解難度逐漸提升不僅能很好地培養孩子的語言能力，擴展其知識面，還能為後面的橋梁書籍閱讀打下很好的基礎。
有人把《RAZ》作為衡量一個孩子英語閱讀水平的風向標，有的人是《海尼曼》的腦殘粉，還有的人把《牛津閱讀樹》視為神壇，還有全球頂級的英語教育專家撰寫的《培生分級閱讀》，還有《大貓》、《蘭登》等。不需選太多，挑選兩個，持之以恆就可以。在閱讀過程中，不用擔心孩子到底是在背還是在讀，高頻詞出現概率高，看得多了自己能記住。
前面已經介紹過《牛津閱讀樹》和《海尼曼》，今天重點介紹一下分級閱讀三巨頭之---RAZ（Reading A—Z），它的大名在江湖如雷貫耳，但是怎麼實操？怎麼用好這些資源你真的知道嗎?今天以學齡前為主，主要介紹下aa—j級。
RAZ aa-A級： 視覺詞+圖片記憶 RAZ B-G級： 通用刷法 RAZ H-J級： 進階級精讀法RAZ aa-A級難度如下表所示：
aa和A是RAZ中最初級的，從蹦單詞到重復短句。aa每頁有2-3個單詞，用很簡單的圖片來解釋這個單詞的意思。比如介詞in out over under off on jump over...還有數字one-twelve季節spring summer fall winter學校the school，the classroom，luch at school等
下圖節選自aa
進入A級後，每張圖片對應的不再只是單詞了，兩張圖片對比呼應比如In and Out，「go in / go on」：
簡單句型出現頻率高了，比如The Forest的句型是「This is a ...」
不認識單詞，沒關系，拼讀或者看圖猜詞，先打個照面，把視覺詞彙和聽力詞彙對應上，然後在後續閱讀的同級別或更高級別中反復遇見，從而達到記憶目的。
第一次讀RAZ Reading繪本建議家長帶讀，如果家長口語不是特別好，可以聽音頻糾音。帶讀的意義在於鼓勵孩子讀出聲，如果孩子看圖片猜詞讀，也不要打斷和糾正，能猜出來也很了不得！
B-G級：
1.泛讀為主，聽、讀、理解、討論2. 整體認讀，能進行簡單的自然拼讀，掌握大部分的高頻詞，培養解讀詞義和閱讀技巧。RAZ B-G級難度如下表所示：
在讀之前可以先聽音頻， 裸聽！ 如果你還不確定孩子現在的級別，可以隨便找一本讓他自己讀，大部分能自讀出來，就聽下一個級別的；如果卡頓超過5個就聽這個級別的。
我自己還有個小方法，如果覺得有用可以參考，反之..我跟卡姐說玩一個故事大王的游戲，哈哈，步步在套路她。套路一：多次裸聽之後，讓她試著用自己的語言把聽到的內容講一遍。套路二：如果確實表述不清，可以快速看一下書的畫面（只是畫面），幫助回憶聽到的內容。表述過程中會聽到有多次裸聽後記住的，也有根據自己理解組織的句子，這個過程大大鍛煉了聽力和口語能力。
卡姐開開心心的當了「故事大王「，還連比帶劃的。她爸從身邊走過，悄悄的對我說：「哎，可憐的孩子又中計了」。我突然發現，想出這個點子證明我腦子也有靈光的時候，哎..且用且珍惜吧。
網上還有畫思維導圖的方式，我覺得也很贊！大家可以試一下研究一個屬於你們家庭的小游戲。
RAZ的另一亮點就是，同一主題的內容會在各個級別中相互關聯，單詞量和內容難度逐漸上升，故事的描述也更詳細生動。所以不必理解太深通改透徹，在讀到高級別時，孩子可以在復習原內容的基礎上，不斷提升閱讀表達能力。
*有此標識，表示在F,I,M級別中的內容是同一個主題。 比如三隻小豬的故事，第一次在Level F出現：
第二次在Level I出現，原來一頁的內容，在這里擴展成了兩頁，增加了對三隻小豬離家的細節和第一隻小豬建完房子以後吃飯的細節描述。
第三次在Level M出現，這次故事再次拓展，增加了目錄和更多的環境和背景描寫。比如三隻小豬的居住環境增加了「in a quiet little town」，之前的「one day the pigs left home」也擴展成為「one day the pig decided it was time to leave their mother's home」
進階階段：H—J級
RAZ H-J級難度如下表所示：
從這個級別開始，閱讀就不僅僅是朗讀了，除了能夠讀出每個單詞，還需要運用和使用各種方法來把書讀懂，讀透了。就像自然拼讀是流利朗讀的高效工具，閱讀技巧也是讀書和閱讀理解的有力支撐。這個階段是需要家長最最最用心帶著孩子進行精讀精聽的階段。
1.讀封面、標題，每一個詞都要讀，畫面每一個細節都要講。如果孩子有不理解的地方，家長盡可能的用英語解釋。我的英語有多爛只有我自己知道，可能在卡姐面前是我說得最自信的時候。我依然厚著臉皮用英語給她解釋不懂的單詞或句子，然後她會說:「哎，我一提問你就這樣，又來了」。 她太不懂老母親的艱辛了，為了說點英語我容易嗎！還好說了一通她最後都能猜到意思。
2.每頁每個單詞每幅圖都要讀，不放過任何一個知識點，多跟孩子一起討論。如果像我一樣聽優於說的家長，可以用中文提問，孩子用英文回答。如果都不能，那就一起用中文討論，然後孩子在理解的基礎上繼續精讀。
3.根據目錄提問，做結構分析，回顧內容。
這是一套非常詳盡的分級閱讀資料，從基礎單詞的觸碰，到句子的理解，再到文章的分析，以及天文地理的知識灌輸。只要是學英語的國家，沒有人不知道這套分級閱讀讀物，稱它為分級閱讀鼻祖一點不過。
