優秀初中英語背誦短文篇一

This summer, I had some special days. I joined Dongzhou International Ecational Exchange Summer Camp.

First, I will tell you about our foreign teachers, they are Shrina and Rebecca. They are friendly and beautiful. They are students at Oxford University.

We talked about many things: famous people, subjects in England, different jobs, our deal days, western star signs, what can we say in a restaurant and so on.

We know lots of things, like what the difference is between "chef" and "cook", all the parts of the body…

We tried to write a letter to Principal Zhang. We made a play and we drew our own comics and tried to sell it. We gave some other students English lessons, we taught them about Chinese Dragon, Chinese Martial Arts and the Olympics.

Every afternoon, we played exciting games: Chinese Whispers, Tongue Twisters, Wheelbarrow, egg and spoon, three legs…

On the last day, we had a good time. We made black tea. We put tea bags, some milk and lots of water in to a big bowl, and then we stirred the tea until it became red and dark. Oh, it tasted good! Later, we used eggs, flour and milk to make many pancakes. To cook them is very interesting. When we finished it, the pancakes looked round and nice. We put some jam on it. How delicious! I won't ever forget it.

The summer Camp is a really good chance for me. I know the local things in England. I learned a lot and like English more. I also know better ways to learn English well.

I hope one day I can see you in England.

Everyone loves to do something when he has free time, and I do, too. What's my favorite activity? It's shopping. Shopping is so exciting and fun. When you walk along the street, you can see many different kinds and styles of clothes. They're really beautiful and new to me, so I find it hard to control myself. I want to buy everything. Of course, after shopping I have less money and I become sane because it will be a long time until I have enough money for my next shopping spree.

A new term began. Students all returned to school met again. They were talking about what they had done in the holidays. I was happier. I couldn't wait to tell my story. Now it's my turn. I told them I got a job in a restaurant. I worked as a waitress.

They didn't believe at first.

"Yes, it's true. "I said," I really had a hard time at the beginning. But several days later, I could do a good job. I earned six hundred yuan this holiday. "They all looked at me with their mouths open.

新學期開始了,同學們都返回學校重新見面。他們正在談論自己的暑假生活。我更高興,迫不及待地想告訴他們我是怎麼過的。終於輪到我,了,我告訴他們我暑假期間在一家餐館當服務員。他們起初並不相信。“是真的。”我說,“剛開始時可慘了,但幾天我就做得很好了。暑假我掙了600元錢呢。”他們都目瞪口呆地看著我。

Reading for pleasure is the easiest way to become a better reader in English. It is also the most important way.

Some students say they don’t want to read for pleasure. They say they want to use their time to learn the rules of the language and new words. They say that pleasure reading is too easy.

Many experts (專家) say pleasure reading is very important for learning English. Dr. Stephen Krashen, a famous expert on learning languages, says that pleasure reading helps you learn many important things about English. Students learn more grammar and more words when they read for pleasure. They also learn more about good writing.

Dr. Krashen tells us that pleasure reading helps each student in a different way. Each student needs to learn something different. Pleasure reading makes it possible for each student to learn what he or she needs.

Reading for pleasure is not the same as studying. When you read for pleasure, you choose your own books, and you don’t have to remember everything. There are no tests on your pleasure reading books. Pleasure reading will help you:

learn how English speakers use English

read faster in English

find examples of good writing in English

learn new words

learn about the cultures (文化) of English speakers

初一英語閱讀理解訓練題***二***
As we know, it is not easy to build a satellite. Building a traditional satellite normally takes years. The costs can he as high as $250 million or more. Most members of the design teams have worked in the field for a long time. They hold advanced degrees in math, science, or engineering.

But things are changing. High costs, unusual ecational requirements and long start-up times are no longer an obstacle to space exploration. The scientists at Stanford University have developed a new type of tiny, inexpensive earth-orbiting satellites that go from ideas to launch***發射***in a year.

So far, college students have built and launched several cabe-shaped satellites, or CubeSats. At least 15 more are ready to go. Those already in orbit***軌道***take pictures, collect information and send it back to the earth, just as regular satellites do.

But you might not even have to wait until you get to college to start designing and building your own satellite. A new program called KatySat aims to get teenagers to take part. Once kids understand what satellites can do, says Ben Yuan, an engineer at Lockheed Martin in Menlo Park, Calif., the kinds of applications they』ll e up with may be countless.

「We』d like to put this technology***技術***in your hands, 」 he tells kids. 「We』re going to teach you how to operate a satellite. Then we want to turn it over to you as a sandbox for you to play in. We want you to take the technology into new directions that we haven』t thought of yet.」

Ecation isn』t the only goal of CubeSats. Because these tiny, technology-filled boxes are relatively inexpensive to build and can be put together quickly, they』re perfect for testing new technologies that might one day be used on major space tasks.

The biggest challenge now is to find ways to bring the satellites back to the earth after a year or two. Otherwise, major highways of space junk could graally increase as CubeSats bee more mon.

Nowadays, college and high school students are getting a chance to learn what it takes to explore in space. Someday—perhaps a lot sooner than you imagine—you might get to design, build and launch your own satellite. If you do, you』re sure to have fun. And you might also get crazy about science for life.

58.pared with the traditional ones, the new satellites __________.

A.need long start-up times B.are low-cost and *** all-sized

C.are very hard to operate D.collect more information in orbit

59.What does the underlined word 「obstacle」 probably mean?

A.An aim to achieve in the near future.

B.An imagination that kids usually have.

C.Something dangerous to terrify people.

D.Something difficult that stands in the way.

60.According to the passage, which of the following is true?

A.CubeSats could possibly cause pollution in space.

B.A few kids will send applications for the project.

C.Scientists designed CubeSats for kids to play with

D.Students can』t design satellites without college ecation.

61.What』s the purpose of the author writing the passage?

A.To show that high technology brings a big change in kids』 life.

B.To show that kids lead the space research into a new direction.

C.To tell us that satellite technology can also be learned by kids.

D.To tell us that kids must study hard to learn satellite technology.

We knew we were going to spend the weekend outdoors, but none of us was sure exactly how. Half of us spent the morning caving while the others went rock-climbing and then we changed at lunchtime. Matt and I went to the caves(岩洞) first. Climbing out was harder than going in,but after a good deal of pushing, we were out at last. Though we were covered with mud,we were pleased and excited by what we'd done.

電腦技術的優勢

We are already familiar with computers—computers work for us at home, in offices and in factories. But it is also true that many children today are using computers at schools before they can write. What does this mean for the future? Are these children lucky or not?

Many people who do not know about computers think of them as machines that children play with. They worry that children do not learn from experience but just from pressing a button and that this is not good for them. They think that children are growing not knowing about the real world.

But people who understand more about computers say that computers can be very good for children. A computer can help them to learn about the real world more quickly, to learn what they want to learn and think for themselves. And for the future, don’t we need people who can think clearly, who know how to get information quickly and use it well? What do you think?

1. “To be familiar with” means to ______.

A. know nothing B. know about C. dislike D. like

2. Does everyone think computers are good for children?

A. Yes, they do. B. No, not everyone thinks so.

C. They don’t know. D. They are not sure.

3. What can computers help children to do?

A. To think clearly, to do homework and to write.

B. To play games, to do math and to .

C. To think clearly, to get information and to use it well.

D. To count, to clean the house and to get information.

4. Does the writer think computer is a good thing?

A. It isn’t mentioned. B. No, he doesn’t think so.

C. He doesn’t know. D. Yes, he does.

John Smith was an old porter. He worked at the station. Every day he was busy carrying heavy things for the people. He was careful with his work. He was kind to everyone. He was always ready to help others.

One morning he stood in the station. He was waiting for the train. Just then he saw a man running towards the trains with a big bag in his hand.

“No train is starting. Why is he in such a hurry?” the old man thought to himself.

He went up to the man and asked, “May I help you?”

As soon as the man saw the porter, he stopped running.

“Can I catch the 10:35 train to London?” the man asked. He looked worried.

The old porter looked at him for a few seconds and said, “Well, sir. I’d like to help you, but I can’t answer your question because I don’t know how fast you can run.” Then he explained to the man, “The 10:35 train to London left five minutes ago. Can you run fast enough to catch it?”

1. What was John’s job?

2. Where do you think the man was going?

3. Why did the man run towards the trains and look worried?

4. What time was it when the man got to the station?

5. What do you think of John Smith?

參考答案與解析:

通讀全文, 故事講述的是車站搬運工John Smith有一天在火車站同一名旅客間的`一段對話,故事很幽默。

第一個問題是一個細節題,第1段清楚地說明了他的工作:John Smith was an old porter。porter的意思的“(車站、碼頭) 的搬運工人”,如果考生不認識這個詞,也可以由He worked at the station. Every day he was busy carrying heavy things for the people.這兩句話了解他的工作性質。因此第一個問題的回答:John’s job was to carry heavy things for the people at station. / He was a porter.

第二個問題是一個推理題,問題:這名旅客要去哪裡。由文中這句旅客的問話Can I catch the 10:35 train to London?很容易推斷出他要去倫敦。

第三個問題仍要求考生推理得出答案,問題:為什麼此人看上去很急的樣子朝火車趕去。很顯然是因為他在趕火車。對why提問要用because進行回答,第三個問題的回答是Because he wanted to catch the 10:35 train to London.

第四個問題是推理題, 問的是:這名旅客趕到火車站的時間。由下文John的回答The 10:35 train to London left five minutes ago可知火車已開走,這名旅客趕到的時間是大約10: 40,因此第四題的回答是It was about10:40 (twenty to eleven) 。

第五個問題是歸納題, 考查考生對文章大意的理解。這個問題的回答實際上就是全文的中心句, 在第一自然段里已做了介紹。He was careful with his work. He was kind to everyone and always ready to help others.

閱讀的樂趣

Reading for pleasure is the easiest way to become a better reader in English. It is also the most important way.

Some students say they don’t want to read for pleasure. They say they want to use their time to learn the rules of the language and new words. They say that pleasure read¬ing is too easy.

●learn how English speakers use English

●read faster in English

●find examples of good writing in English

●learn new words

●learn about the cultures (文化) of English speakers

【成為積極的思考者 決心和毅力必不可少】

Positive thinking is a significant element of happiness. In order to become a positive thinker, determination and consistency are important. The first thing to know about positive thinking is that everyone can do it. With certain cognitive and behavioral modifications, we can all become positive thinkers. Another important factor is that being a positive thinker does not mean you become numb to anything that is not working properly in your life or is negative -- it just means that you approach life and face challenges with a healthier outlook.

正面思考是幸福的重要組成部分。要想成為一個積極的思考者,決心和毅力必不可少。首先你要知道,每個人都能成為積極思考者。只要改善一定的認知和行為,我們都可以做到。另外一個很重要的因素就是:你不需要對那些不是很完美的事情麻木不仁或是帶有悲觀的色彩——只是說人生和挑戰你都要積極的對待。

To become a positive thinker, these may help you:

要想成為一個積極的思考者,下面這些也許能幫到你:

1. Change your self-monitoring:

改變自我監督

Instead of selectively attending to negative events, focus on the positive ones. Then pay attention to the delayed consequences of your behavior rather than the immediate ones. For example, if a job is not going like you want, focus on the fact that you have a job and how you can take your time to make the situation better.

與其選擇做那些消極的事情,不如集中做些積極的吧。然後看看你的行為之後的效果。不是立竿見影的那種。比如,如果工作不是很喜歡,就記住你有一份工作的事實,專注如何能把情況變得好點。

2. Change your self-evaluation:

改變自我評價:

Challenge any inaccurate internal attributions and see if you compare your behavior to standards that are excessively rigid and perfectionistic. If so, change these and be reasonable with your comparisons. For example, if you constantly compare your weaknesses with other peoples' strengths, then switch this and compare yourself with those who are doing poorer than you as well. Overall, people who focus more on their strengths than their weaknesses but at the same time are aware of their weaknesses have a healthier self-evaluation result.

探究那些內部失敗的原因,看看自己的行為是否是沒有達到嚴格完美的標准。如果是,就改掉那些標准,接受自己目前的不足。比如如果你總是把自己的缺點和別人的優點作比較,那麼換一下,也和那些做的沒有你好的人比一比吧。一般來說,人們都會更關注他們的強項而非弱點,但同時他們也會意識到缺點會有更健康的自我評價結果。

3. Change your self-reinforcement:

改變自我獎勵機制:

If you have low rates of self-reward and high rates of self-punishment when it comes to certain aspects of your life, then you want to modify this. For example, think more of how far you've come, how hard you've worked, acknowledge yourself for it and then see how much further you want to go.

如果你對自己獎勵很少懲罰很多,而這似乎已成為一種慣性時,是時候改變一下了。比如,多想想你已經達到哪些成就,多麼努力地工作,獎勵一下自己,然後看看你還能走多遠。

4. Draw conclusions with evidence:

根據事實得出結論:

Look at the evidence, look at the events, look at patterns and don't base your conclusions on assumptions. For example, don't just assume someone will cheat you because they look like or in some ways act like an ex you didn't get along with. Look at other elements to see if there is any evidence for your assumption.

根據事實得出結論:看看事實,看看事件,看看形式,千萬別把結論基於猜想上。比如,不要因為某些人看起來像在騙你或是表現的讓你覺得不怎麼舒服,就認為他們的確在騙你。看看有沒有其他證據能證實你的觀點吧。

5. Don't:

別把事情過分個人化:

The majority of how people interact with you is e to their own personality, strengths, and baggage and does not have as much to do with you. Pay attention to how to differentiate between different interaction signals. For example, instead of immediately getting frustrated because the waitress was a little late attending to you, think that maybe she is having a really tough day or too may tables to take care of.

大部分時候人們如何和你交往都取決於他們的個性、能力和精神狀態,和你其實沒多大關系。注意如何區分不同的交際信號。比如,與其為遲來的服務生感到生氣,不如換位思考,想想他今天心情不好,或者實在是太忙了吧。

6. Don't do "either/or" thinking:

別做選擇題

Black and white thinking based on perfectionistic thought is counterproctive. Every time a thought pops up and has words like "should" or "must," challenge it. For example, instead of saying "this should be done this way," say something like, "I prefer it this way but I am sure there are other ways to do and am willing to be open.

基於完美的'非黑即白想法反而會讓你達不到預期的效果。每次出來一個想法,有著類似於“應該”“必須”這樣的字眼,那麼不妨改變一下吧。比如與其說“應該這么去完成”,不如說“我喜歡這個方法,但是我覺得肯定會有更好的方法能達到我們預期的效果。”

7. Don't do emotional reasoning:

不要太情緒化

This is a belief based on feeling alone without any rational thinking behind it. For example, you don't like such and such but you don't have any logical reason for not liking them.

沖動是魔鬼,這句話的確是是真理。例如,你總是沒來由的不喜歡一些東西。

8. Challenge your "what if" thoughts:

改變那些“假使......”的想法:

When faced with too much fear about a situation, imagine the worst case scenario and visualize a solution for it, then let go of fear. This way, you will be prepared for anything and your fear would not block you from being open and creative to different solutions. For example, if you are constantly worried about losing your job up to a point where it is creating a lot of anxiety and fear and is effecting your performance and your happiness negatively, then think of losing your job, visualize how you will handle it, find solutions in your mind and then let go of the thought and the fear attached to it.

遇到太多的恐慌,想想最糟糕的的情況吧,設想一下那樣的場景,然後把恐懼丟到腦後。這樣你就算是做足了准備,恐懼感也不會再阻礙到你對於不同情景的創造力。例如,如果你總是擔心失業,十分的焦慮和害怕,甚至影響到了你的表現和幸福,那麼就想想如果你真的失業了,你會如何處理,自己想一想解決方案,然後就果斷拋棄這些消極的想法和恐懼吧。

At the end, positive thinkers are better problem solvers and have better interactions. In addition to that, people who are positive thinkers are happier and more satisfied with their life.

最後,積極思考者都更善於解決問題,更好的與人交際。除此之外,那些積極思考者會更開心更知足。
