不管是面对目前的小升初考试还适应未来社会的发展，学生现在的作文学习都是令人担忧的。对于北京市即将升初中的小学生来讲，一部分学生要参加择校考试，另一部分学生必须参加升学分班考试。语文测试中考试作文成了一个必须面对的现实。而面临激烈的升学竞争，我们的学生是否已经具备以下写作文的基本能力呢？
1. 书写工整 ；2.卷面干净，整洁；3.快速审题，快速构思；4.快速行文，40分钟写500字以上作文 。
大家千万不要小看这些基本能力，因为它将直接决定学生作文的等级水平，如果学生写的作文不能达到前两项标准，那么文章基本上没有进入一，二类文的可能。为使么强调前两项呢？因为这是一个大家容易忽略的问题。
另外我们对作文网2004年小升初寒假“小才子作文班”的学生进行了调查了解，发现学生存在以下几个共同问题：1.不太喜欢写作文，不相信自己能写好作文；2 . 写作文速度慢，家长普遍反映学生在家写500字作文需要1.5—2小时；3 .卷面写错字，习惯用修正液，修正带涂改；4. 字体不够工整；5.口语表达能力一般，不敢上讲台讲话。
针对于这样的小学毕业生，我们老师与家长首先要相信学生是有能力写好作文的，但最重要的是我们家长和老师要采取针对性的训练，帮助学生在最短时间内提高写作水平。
我们针对毕业班的学生存在的问题，主要采取了以下措施：
第一 要进行基本功训练
首先提高写作兴趣，培养写作情感 。美籍华人杨振宁博士认为："成功的秘诀在于兴趣"。只有当学生对写作文产生了浓厚的兴趣时，作文训练才会有成效。心理学同时告诉我们，兴趣与当前的需要有关，因此提高学生写作兴趣的办法虽然是多种多样的，除了进行写作目的教育之外，最重要的一点就是要欣赏学生写的作文，让学生从中得到一种成功的快乐体验。 另外，出作文题要紧跟形势，与时代同步，要切合学生的生活实际，命题要尽量新，能激发学生的写作兴趣，使学生有话可写。
另外要注意引导学生积累写作材料， 所积累的材料要注意三点：一要典型，二要准确，三要记牢。要强调用脑记，要背，不能光靠笔记本。材料越充足，写作速度就越快。
还有要丰富写作语言。 丰富写作语言的方法之一是，背书和加强课外阅读，书读得越多，背得越熟，作文就会越通顺，语言就会有文采 。
训练书写能力书写能力的高低直接影响写作速度。必须强化书写能力训练，要求学生养成良好的书写习惯，把字写得 规范、工整。
