英语专业一般，没有国家重点学科，也没有国家级特色专业；聊城大学外语教育学内院成立于容2008年6月，其前身为大学英语教学部，为学校二级学院建制，下设基础外语第一教研部、基础外语第二教研部和研究生外语教研部，主要承担全校非外语专业本、专科学生大学外语和研究生外语的教学工作，同时还设有大学英语课程与教学论和学科教学（英语）两个硕士研究生招生方向。学院于2004年2月被教育部确定为全国大学英语教学改革180所试点单位之一，2006年4月又被教育部确定为全国大学英语教学改革31所示范点单位之一。

Liaocheng Universtiy (LU), a provincial comprehensive university, is located in Liaocheng City, Shandong Province, which is a famous national historical and cultural city known as “ City North of the Yangtze River.” LU was founded in 1974 as of Shandong Teachers’ College, Liaocheng Branch. In 1981, with the approval of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, Liaocheng Branch was renamed as Liaocheng Teachers’ College. And then in 2002, approved by the Ministry of Ecation of the PRC, LU adopted its present name. Mr. Ji Xianlin, the master of Oriental Studies, is the honorary President of LU. Professor and doctorial supervisor Cheng Yuhai is the Secretary of the Party Committee of LU, and Professor and doctorial supervisor Li Zhe, the current President.
