一、注意日期、星期和天氣的書寫位置。

日期和星期要寫在正文的左上角，其順序多是「星期＋月、日、年」（也有把星期放在後面的）。

如「2003年11月22日，星期一」可寫為「Monday November 22，2003或November 22，2003 Monday」。天氣情況應寫在正文的右上角，如：Fine，Rainy，Cloudy，Windy等。

二、關於標題的書寫。

在日期和天氣的下一行中間可以寫上日記小標題，也可以不寫標題。

三、關於正文的書寫。

正文是關於一天生活的記載，也是日記的主題。在書寫正文時要做到：

1、要選擇當天感受最深刻、最有意義的事件來描述，不要寫成簡單的流水帳；

2、日記的內容多是親身經歷和耳聞目睹的事情，所以要用第一人稱來寫；

3、日記多是在當天晚上來記述當天發生過的事情，因為動詞時態常使用過去時，但使用時必須靈活掌握，如景物描寫、議論某事、對話引語等要使用現在時態；

4、日記應以時間發生的先後順序來展開，並且要簡明扼要，條理清楚，寫出真實感。
