在小學階段，閱讀理解題型靈活多樣，但主要有以下題型：

一、讀一讀，然後選一選。

這種題型的特點是在短文後給出若十個不完整的句子或若干個根據短文內容提出的問題，針對每一題都提供三到四個備選的答案，要求同學們在正確理解短文內容的基礎上，從選項中選出一個正確的答案。這類試題的問題一般是緊扣短文內容編排的，既會涉及文章中的細節內容，如文中出現的人物、時間、地點、事件的前因後果等;也會涉及文章中某個詞或某個句子的含義以及文章的主旨、大意和標題等。

這部分內容主要考察的是不及物動詞的知識點：

不及物動詞以vi表示，字典里詞後標有vi. 的就是不及物動詞，字典里詞後標有vt. 的就是及物動詞。而及物動詞後能直接跟有動作的對象（即賓語）若不及物動詞後要跟賓語，必須先在其後添加上某個介詞，如to,of,at後方可跟上賓語。具體每個動詞後究竟加什麼介詞就得聯系動詞短語了。

不及物動詞本身意義完整，後面不必跟賓語的實義動詞，叫做不及物動詞(intransitive verb)。如：Birds can fly. 鳥會飛。She spoke at the meeting yesterday evening. 她在昨天晚上的會上發了言。

有的動詞在漢語里用作及物動詞，而英語里只能用作不及物動詞，如arrive到達，agree同意，listen聽。英語里這些動詞後面常接介詞。
