二、培養學生對計算的興趣
偉大的科學家愛因斯坦說：「興趣是最好的老師。」說明一個人只要對某事物產生了濃厚的興趣，就會主動去求知、去探索、去實踐，並在求知、探索、實踐中產生能力，變低效為高效。
（一）通過講述數學家小時的故事，激發學生對計算的興趣
喜歡聽故事幾乎是孩子們的共性。其中，我就給學生講述了高斯小時的一個出名的故事：有一天下午快要放學的時候，有個班上的很多學生不大遵守紀律。老師就有意要輕輕地懲罰一下這些孩子，於是就出了這樣一道題（自然數從1加到100）：1+2+3+4……+97+98+99+100=（），算好後就放學回家。「同學們，你們會計算這道題嗎？」好多孩子都搖搖頭。「那我們接著聽故事。」學生們趕忙拿出紙筆進行計算，但有一個孩子卻沒有動手，好像在思考。很快這個孩子算出了答案。他所使用的方法是：對50對構造成和101的數列求和（1+100，2+99，3+98……），同時得到結果：5050。這個孩子的名字叫高斯，那一年他才9歲。後來，高斯成為了德國著名的數學家、物理學家、天文學家、幾何學家，大地測量學家。聽完後，學生們對高斯崇拜得五體投地，對計算也產生了濃厚的興趣。
（二）利用一題多算，激發學生的計算興趣
在平時的計算教學時，要善於訓練學生的計算思維能力。如在二年級學習乘加計算時，有這樣一道題：是一道看圖列式計算題，畫的是四盤桃子，前面三盤每盤6個，第四盤有5個，問一共有多少個桃子？孩子們幾乎都是這樣列的算式6×3+5=23（個）先算6×3=18（個），再算18+5=23（個）。這時，我問道：「有沒有其它演演算法？」孩子們慢慢地進行著嘗試。終於有孩子又有新的演演算法：6×4—1=23（個），先把最後一盤也當作6個，就有4個6，得24，多算了1個就減1個，得23。然後，我讓學生比較一下，哪一種算得快些？學生很快就明白了第二種演演算法要快得多，這樣就激發出了學生對計算的興趣。
三、加強口算能力的培養
《小學數學教學大綱》指出：「培養學生的計算能力，要重視基本的口算訓練，口算既是筆算、估算和簡便運算的基礎，也是計算能力的重要組成部分。」口算能力強了，筆算的速度就快，計算的正確性就會提高。從一年級開始就要注重加法、減法口算的練習，20以內的加減法能熟練地進行計算對後面乘除法的計算都有相當大的幫助。如學生在學《三位數乘兩位數》這一單元時，有些學生遇到這道題就發生了錯誤：389×28，第1步算389×8本來等於3112，結果有的得3002、3222……問題就出在7+4等於多少沒有算對。
