As you have read ‘Oliver Twist’, a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century which has became one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens, you can really understand the worlds‘regain the nature of goodness’.

Charles Dickens was born in a poor family ,having a poor background ,he wrote this novel in his twenties ,who was just with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals,as well as to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of ‘Oliver Twist’ was an orphan named Oliver Twist, when he was born ,he was thrown into a world which is full of poverty and crime. He has suffered enormous pains, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver, I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt really sorry for the poor boy, but at the same time I detest the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief, as all the happy stories do, the goodness eventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a

happy life at the end. One of the plots which attracted me most is that after the theft, little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them, or Rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

Sometimes,in the deep and quiet nights,I keep asking myself,how can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

Reflect on myself,I define the nature of goodness to be one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’, he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself. To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. They look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. As a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. On the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. In their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. If they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. They are one of the sorts that I really detest.

There are some worlds in an essay, ‘Goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the Deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’.

All in all,if a person without goodness ,he is destined to lose everything. Thereby, all those ‘vermin-to-be’ should learn from the book and remember to regain the nature of goodness in the bottom of theirs’hearts.

I. Introction

The Little Prince first published in 1943, is a novella and the most famous work of the French aristocrat, writer, poet and pioneering aviator Antoinede Saint-Exupéry(1900–1944).The novella is both the most read and most translated book in the French language, and was voted the best book of the 20th century in France. Translated into more than 250 languages and dialects, and it has become one of the best-selling books ever published. Saint-Exupéry, a laureate of several of France's highest literary awards and areserve military pilot at the start of the Second World War, wrote and illustratedthe manuscript while exiled in the United States after the Fall of France. He hadtravelled there on a personal mission to persuade its government to quickly enter the war against Nazi Germany. In the midst of personal upheavals andfailing health he proced almost half of the writings he would be rememberedfor, including a tender tale of loneliness, friendship, love and loss, in the form ofa young prince fallen to Earth.An earlier memoir by the author recountedhisaviation experiences in the Sahara and he is thought to have drawn on those sameexperiences for use as plot elements in The Little Prince. II. A Summary of The Little Prince

The Little Prince tells a story like that: A pilot crashes in the Sahara Desert.A thousand miles from any habitation, while attempting to fix his plane, he meetsa strangely dressed little boy who seems to have come from nowhere, and whodemands that he draw a sheep. "When a mystery is too overpowering, one dare not disobey," so the pilot attempts to draw a sheep. Graally the littleprince reveals his story. He comes from a small asteroid, where he lives alone until arose grows there. But the rose is demanding, and he is confused by his feelingsabout her. Eventually he decides to leave, and journey to other planets in search ofknowledge. After meeting many confusing alts, he eventually lands on Earth,where he befriends a snake and a fox. The fox helps him to understand the rose, and the snake offers to help him return to his planet-- but at a price. From my point of view, The Little Prince is not simply a fairy tale, but aphilosophicalnovel. The author reveals the absurdity of the civilized world through the eyes of the little prince, who has a pure heart and a true world.

III. My Views on The Little Prince

The use of the symbols makes the story full of meanings and morevivid. Firstly, the setting is in the Desert of Sahara. As for me, desert is pure landinsome way, not yet the invasion of the modern civilization. Only in such a place,can love, responsibility and the human nature be revealed fully. Secondly, the first creature the little prince encountered was the snake. In the west, thesnake represents mystery and power. In the story, the snake is “more powerful than the finger of a king”and has the prophet for everything. The snake thought the prince was “innocent and true” while “this earth made of granite”, so finally it sent thelittle prince back to his planet. What the snake said tell the darkness and evil of the human, the little prince is not suitable to live in such a place. Thirdly,the choice of the fox is also meaningful. In people’s eyes, the fox is always filled withwisdom. In the story, the fox is just like a philosopher, giving the prince adviceand inspiring him to understand the meaning of love, the responsibilities for his rose, and the difference between “alike” and “unique”. The fox told thelittle prince his secret: “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; whatis essential is invisible to the eye”, but “the men have forgotten this truth”.

The words satires the ignorance of human beings who do not even know thetrue essence of love and friendship. Meanwhile, it reminds us that we shouldbe responsible for our love, to be true. In the story, it describes the people such as the king, the conceited man, the tippler, the businessman and so on. They represent allmanner of man in the earth with their own symbolic meanings.

The story is made up of philosophical sentences, from which we can gain a good deal of enlightenment. I will take some as examples. In chapter 17,the snake told the prince “It is also lonely among men”. As for me, nowadays peopleis becoming busy and ambitious, they no longer have time to care about others, even their friends just for pursuing their own goals. We can see thealienationbetween them. It reminds me of the masterpiece Moby Dick written by Herman Melville. Because of the alienation between man and man, they can notunite together, which lead to a tragedy in the end. In chapter 10, the king said:”Youshall judge yourself that is the most difficult thing of all. It is much more difficultto judge oneself than to judge others. If you succeed in judging yourself rightly, then you are indeed a man of true wisdom”. I can not agree it more. AsPlato said:”know yourself”, which is a important principle for us to live. It is of greatimportance to know who we are, what we have done and for what. Only if we can truly know ourselves, can we make the right choice, not blind for seekingfor something meaningless. As the lamplighter said, “It is impossible for a man to be faithful and lazy at the same time.” This sentence illustrates the old saying”You can’t have your cake and eat it too”, things are always like that,admittedly, human is greedy sometimes.

The Little Prince almost covers all aspects of life, including friendship, love,responsibilities, freedom and so on. It can be said as a guidance for a better life, better society. We’d better be childish in our deep heart and soul.

Scarlett, the leading character in the novel, impressed me the most. So I want to talk something about her. Her character was very complex. She was childish and optimistic. She had a tense feeling and her feeling was apt to be revealed. In the meanwhile, she was self-willed and like a bear with a sore head. She was also quite responsible for her own action. She was not good at analyzing and introspection. These characters made her use six or seven years’ experiences to realize that the unwilling love was wrong. Yeah, what a reasonable sentence. It’s of great philosophic theory. It told us to be confident to life. When I meet difficulty, I will tell myself: tomorrow is another day.

Gone with the Wind has a very significant position in our society. We feel America is an incredible and strange country, but Gone with the Wind uncovers her too softhearted veil, making people see many things that dirty and glorious are coexisted. ⑷ 英語論文寫作文獻的引用與標注

1. 英文論文正文中引用標注的格式,所引用內容為譯本內容

參考文獻加標注一般是在引用文字的末尾點擊插入引用——腳注和章節附註,選擇章節附註就可以了,參考文獻應該屬於章節附註,在菜單里選「插入---引用----腳注和章節附註」,腳注是在文章的某一頁下面的註解,而章節附註就是在文章最後了,打開後就可以選編碼,即角碼。可以自己設定類型、格式。雙擊編碼就可以在文章和參考文獻間轉換。

在英文輸入法狀態下輸入[1],選中[1].按ctrl+shift++號鍵

把游標放在引用參考文獻的地方,在菜單欄上選「插入|腳注和章節附註」,彈出的對話框中選擇「章節附註」,點擊「選項」按鈕修改編號格式為阿拉伯數字,位置為「文檔結尾」,確定後Word就在游標的地方插入了參考文獻的編號,並自動跳到文檔尾部相應編號處請你鍵入參考文獻的說明,在這里按參考文獻著錄表的格式添加相應文獻。參考文獻標注要求用中括弧把編號括起來,至今我也沒找到讓Word自動加中括弧的方法,需要手動添加中括弧。 在文檔中需要多次引用同一文獻時,在第一次引用此文獻時需要製作章節附註,再次引用此文獻時點「插入|交叉引用」,「引用類型」選「章節附註」,引用內容為「章節附註編號(帶格式)」,然後選擇相應的文獻,插入即可。不要以為已經搞定了,我們離成功還差一步。論文格式要求參考文獻在正文之後,參考文獻後還有發表論文情況說明、附錄和致謝,而Word的章節附註要麼在文檔的結尾,要麼在「節」的結尾,這兩種都不符合我們的要求。解決的方法似乎有點笨拙。首先刪除章節附註文本中所有的編號(我們不需要它,因為它的格式不對),然後選中所有章節附註文本(參考文獻說明文本),點「插入|書簽」,命名為「參考文獻文本」,添加到書簽中。這樣就把所有的參考文獻文本做成了書簽。在正文後新建一頁,標題為「參考文獻」,並設置好格式。游標移到標題下,選「插入|交叉引用」,「引用類型」為「書簽」,點「參考文獻文本」後插入,這樣就把參考文獻文本復制了一份。選中剛剛插入的文本,按格式要求修改字體字型大小等,並用項目編號進行自動編號。到這里,我們離完美還差一點點。列印文檔時,章節附註頁同樣會列印出來,而這幾頁是我們不需要的。當然,可以通過設置列印頁碼范圍的方法不列印最後幾頁。這里有另外一種方法,如果你想多學一點東西,請接著往下看。選中所有的章節附註文本,點「格式|字體」,改為「隱藏文字」,切換到普通視圖,選擇「視圖|腳注」,此時所有的章節附註出現在窗口的下端,在「章節附註」下拉列表框中選擇「章節附註分割符」,將默認的橫線刪除。同樣的方法刪除「章節附註延續分割符」和「章節附註延續標記」。刪除頁眉和頁腳(包括分隔線),選擇「視圖|頁眉和頁腳」,首先刪除文字,然後點擊頁眉頁腳工具欄的「頁面設置」按鈕,在彈出的對話框上點「邊框」,在「頁面邊框」選項卡,邊框設置為「無」,應用范圍為「本節」;「邊框」選項卡的邊框設置為「無」,應用范圍為「段落」。切換到「頁腳」,刪除頁碼。選擇「工具|選項」,在「列印」選項卡里確認不列印隱藏文字(Word默認)。

2. 英文論文中英文標注的正確格式是什麼

文中引述 正確引用作品原文或專家、學者的論述是寫好英語論文的重要環節;既要注意引述與論文的有機統一,即其邏輯性,又要注意引述格式(即英語論文參考文獻)的規范性。

引述別人的觀點,可以直接引用,也可以間接引用。無論採用何種方式,論文作者必須註明所引文字的作者和出處。

美國學術界通行的做法是在引文後以圓括弧形式註明引文作者及出處。現針對文中引述的不同情況,將部分規范格式分述如下。

若引文不足三行,則可將引文有機地融合在論文中。如:The divorce of Arnold's personal desire from his inheritance results in 「the familiar picture of Victorian man alone in an alien universe」。

被引述的文字如果超過三行,則應將引文與論文文字分開,如下例所示:Whitman has proved himself an eminent democratic representative and precursor, and his 「Democratic Vistas」is an admirable and characteristic And if one is sorry that in it Whitman is unable to conceive the extreme crises of society, one is certain that no society would be tolerable whoses citizens could not find refreshment in its buoyant democratic ideali *** 。這里的格式有兩點要加以注意。

一是引文各行距英語論文的左邊第一個字母十個空格,即應從第十一格打起;二是引文不需加引號,末尾的句號應標在最後一個詞後。若引文出自一部多卷書,除註明作者姓和頁碼外,還需註明卷號。

如:Professor Chen Jia's A History of English Literature aimed to give Chinese readers「a historical survey of English literature from its earliest beginnings down to the 20thcentury」。圓括弧里的1為卷號,小寫羅馬數字i為頁碼,說明引文出自第1卷序言(引言、序言、導言等多使用小寫的羅馬數字標明頁碼)。

如果英語論文中引用了同一作者的兩篇或兩篇以上的作品,除註明引文作者及頁碼外,還要註明作品名。如:Bacon condemned Platoas「an obstacle to science」。

在教學中研究,在研究中提高,不搞閉門造車、坐而論道。我們有些英語教師工作十分勤懇,但平時缺乏積累、疏於動筆,對論文寫作望而生畏,不能用大綱、用先進的教育、教學理論武裝自己的作品,不注意吸納他人的成果,使作品成為單純的經驗、感受;或者只談理論,不能用寶貴的實踐經驗來證明自己的論點,使作品缺乏說服力。

理論與實踐相結合是英語教學論文寫作應遵循的一項基本原則。第六、英文畢業論文摘要各部分的寫作 根據《EI》對英文摘要的寫作要求,英文摘要的寫作並沒有一成不變的格式,但一般來說,英文摘要是對原始文獻不加詮釋或評論的准確而簡短的概括並要求它能反映原始文獻的主要信息。

第七、英語畢業論文——目的(What I want to do?) 目的。主要說明作者寫作此文的目的,或本文主要解決的問題。

一般來說,一篇好的英文摘要,一開頭就應該把作者本文的目的或要解決的主要問題非常明確地交待清楚。必要時,可利用論文中所列的最新文獻,簡要介紹前人的工作,但這種介紹一定要極其簡練。

在這方面,《EI》提出了兩點具體要求:1.1) Eliminate or minimize background information(不談或盡量少談背景信息)。1.2) Avoid repeating the title or part of the titlein the first sentence of the abstract(避免在摘要的第一句話重復使用題目或題目的一部分)。

第八、英語畢業論文——過程與方法(How I did it?) 過程及方法。主要說明作者主要工作過程及所用的方法。

在英文摘要中,過程與方法的闡述起著承前啟後的作用。開頭交待了要解決的問題(What I want to do)之後,接著要回答的自然就是如何解決問題(How I did it),而且,最後的結果和結論也往往與研究過程及方法是密切相關的。

大多數作者在闡述過程與方法時,最常見的問題是泛泛而談、空洞無物,只有定性的描述,使讀者很難清楚地了解論文中解決問題的過程和方法。因此,在說明過程與方法時,應結合(指向)論文中的實例、實驗框圖等來進行闡述,這樣可以既給讀者一個清晰的思路。

第九、英語畢業論文——結果和結論(What results did I get and what conclusionscan I draw?)結果和結論部分代表著論文的主要成就和貢獻,英語畢業論文有沒有價值,值不值得讀者閱讀,主要取決於你所獲得的結果和所得出的結論。因此,在寫作結果和結論部分時,一般都要盡量。

3. 英文論文中引用不超過四行的怎麼注釋

夾註:英文文獻----網路文獻----漢語文獻,各個文獻的先後以作者的姓氏字母或拼音為序,不用單獨加序號或編號;每個參考文獻的第二行起必須縮進4個英文字元;1.5倍行距;另外,與文中的夾注一一對應;不同類型的參考文獻寫法請參照寫作指南中附件2的內容)。

4. 英語論文 參考文獻怎麼在文中標注出

學校一般有格式的,按照格式標注。

駁論文是議論文常見的論證文體,在對一些社會醜陋現象的批判與揭露上價值尤為突出,但學生在寫作中往往感到不知從何駁起,無從下筆。其實,這類文章寫作有一個思路,那就是:1、列現象,2、示弊端,3、探根源,4、指出路。本文適宜高中課文,魯迅先生的名篇《拿來主義》為例,對駁論文的這一特徵予以探析。

列現象

對現實中不合道德、有礙社會健康發展的現象進行列舉。事例選取的典型性,以求警醒人們;羅列的豐富性,以求引起讀者共鳴;修辭的多樣性,以求彰顯行文文采,增強氣勢。例:

單是學藝上的東西,近來就先送一批古董到巴黎去展覽,但終「不知後事如何」;還有幾位「大師」們捧著幾張古畫和新畫,在歐洲各國一路的掛過去,叫作「發揚國光」。聽說不遠還要送梅蘭芳博士到蘇聯去,以催進「象徵主義」,此後是順便到歐洲傳道。

5. 論文引用怎麼標注

論文中引用他人的文獻應當按照參考文獻的國家標准格式依次進行引用和標注。

格式為: [序號]主要責任者.文獻題名[文獻類型標識].出版地:出版者,出版年.起止頁碼(可選)。 例如: [7]金顯賀,王昌長,王忠東,等. 一種用於在線檢測局部放電的數字濾波技術[J].清華大學學報(自然科學版),1993,33⑷:62-67. [4]馮西橋. 核反應堆壓力管道和壓力容器的LBB分析[R]. 北京:清華大學核能技術設計研究院,1997. (4)英語閱讀報告引用擴展閱讀: 以畢業論文為例,論文正文版面格式: 1、正文部分與「關鍵詞」行間空兩行; 2、漢語正文文字採用小四號宋體;正文英語正文文字採用Times New Roman12號,標題漢語採用四號黑體,標題英語採用Times New Roman14號,每段首起空兩格,1.25倍行距; 3、段落間層次要分明,題號使用要規范。

⑸ 英文參考文獻引用格式是什麼

英文參考文獻引用格式有兩種:APA格式和MLA格式。

1、APA格式:APA(American Psychological Association)是一種標明參考來源的格式,主要使用在社會科學領域及其他學術准則中,國內很多期刊也是採用的APA格式。

APA文內注的參考文獻格式是:「(作者姓氏,發表年份)」。

APA文末的參考文獻目錄格式是:Reference List, 必須以姓(Family name)的字母順序來排列,基本結構為:

期刊類:【作者】【發表年份】【文章名】【期刊名】【卷號/期數:起止頁碼】Smith,J.(2006).The title of the article.The title of Journal,1,101-105。

非期刊類:【作者】【發表年份】【書籍名】【出版地:出版社】Sussan.G.(2002).What computers can't do.New York:Harp&Row。

2、MLA格式:MLA是美國現代語言協會(Modern Language Association)制定的論文指導格式,多用於人文學科(Liberal Arts)。

MLA文內注的基本格式:「(作者姓氏,文獻頁碼)」。

MLA文末的參考文獻目錄格式:在MLA格式中稱為Works Cited,同樣是以姓(Family name)的字母順序來排列,基本結構為:

期刊類:【作者】【「文章名」】【期刊名】【卷號或期數】【發表年份】起止頁碼】Nwezeh,C.E.「The Comparative Approachto Modern African Literature.」Year book of General and Comparative Literature 28(1979):22。

非期刊類:【作者】【書籍名】【出版地:出版社】【發表年份】Winfield,Richard Dien.Law in Civil Society.Madison:U of Wisconsin P,1995。

文獻引用不符合要求具體表現是:

1、所列文獻范圍過寬,凡所參閱過的均列出其中,如教材、內部刊物、獲獎過但並未公開發表的成果報告等。

2、所列文獻過多,如有些醫生認為文獻越多越好,將參閱過的文章書籍後的參考文獻也悉數收錄,有些文獻作者並沒有親自閱讀,只是認為跟自己的文章搭點邊,也湊數其後。

3、所列文獻過少,有些醫生怕自己文章引述別人東西太多,被人認為抄襲,故意將一些重要參考文獻略去。

4、對文獻的理解偏面,以為只有引用文獻原文才需要列出。

5、大而不當,將整期刊物甚至連續幾期雜志或整張報紙作為參考文獻。
