一、閱讀時間和方式

英語周報的閱讀主要在堂上進行,採用限時閱讀的方式,每個單元的閱讀材料都有7~8篇,而且還有閱讀後回答問題的,在閱讀後選答案的題型中,我們還加了要回答的問題,學生帶著問題去閱讀,這對培養他們找到短文的主旨大意、關鍵句和關鍵詞的能力有很大的促進作用。此外,為了豐富學生的.閱讀材料,我們在沸騰英語和星火英語精選了一些跟教材有關的而且學生感興趣的閱讀材料,讓學生在周末和假期閱讀,由於我們採用循序漸進的原則,學生閱讀這些材料時感到很輕松,而且閱讀內容的趣味性使學生從中獲得了樂趣,從而培養了學生的閱讀興趣。

二、利用競賽促進學生的學習

在開始主題閱讀的時候我們就讓學生講了有關下學期進行英語閱讀競賽的計劃。我們知道中學生都有好勝心,所以我們相信學生可以把壓力轉為動力,通過一學年的訓練,大多數學生掌握了閱讀技巧。在各年級的英語閱讀競賽中,學生的閱讀理解能力有了很大的提高。

三、反思

老師在組織主題閱讀活動的過程中,有些學生沒有積極參與,特別是閱讀理解的選擇題,有些學生根本不看題目就亂寫答案,這有待於老師對這些學生進行教育,讓他們懂得英語閱讀在本學科學習的重要性。還有,在學生進行這項活動時,老師沒有把它跟口語訓練或書面表達結合起來,對於英語程度較好的學生,可以要求他們把故事的主要內容講出來或寫出來,這樣就可以更充分地利用閱讀材料。

今後,我們將揚長避短,學習兄弟學校的有效經驗,使「悅讀英語」成為「英語閱讀」的代名詞。

Since 1984, Philadelphia has been cleaning up its act. One by one, graffiti-covered walls are being changed into outdoor art. So far, more than 1,800 murals (壁畫) have been painted.Philadelphia now has more murals than any other American city.
