After appreciating the movie I begin to learn more about Chinese food I want to have taste of them. I am so proud of our food when we talk about it to foreign friends we can feel their favor of our food. The food is part of our culture they should be inherited.

There are different kinds of noodles in our country. In Shanxi, the most famous noodle is sliced noodles, in Guangdong, it has dry fried noodles; in Si chuan, people love spicy hot noodles very much. Born in Beijing and live in Beijing, I love fried bean paste noodles the best.
在我國,有各種各樣的面條。在山西,最著名的麵食是刀削麵;在廣東,最著名的是伊面;在四川,人們最愛的則是麻辣面。作為一個土生土長的北京人,我最愛炸醬面。
The fired bean paste noodles is very easy to cook. First of it, you should slice the cucumber into pieces, cook the soy bean and green bean for about ten minutes, then put these material in a bowl. Second, stir-frying the paste. Mix the minced meat, ginger and green onion, and then put them in the pan, keep frying the paste until you can smell the aroma. Last, put the paste onto the noodles you have prepare and add the cucumber, soy bean and green bean to the noodles. The fried bean paste noodles are done. So what is the genetically modified food?It is a kind of food that people apply modern molecular biotechnology,transfer some biological gene to other species, transform the genetic material of living things,change the shape, nutritional quality, consumer quality to the target of people's needs.So from the definition of GMF,we can know it happened for people's needs.We can have more options to cook and eat,and it also can save our money because this kind of food is usually cheaper and easier to plant than others.Originally, it is good for our life.
While,almost 50 percent of the whole people in China believe that the genetically modified food is not safe to our healthy,but what is the fun thing is most of them don't know how the genetically modified food damage their healthy.They just are deeply misunderstanding and even have repellent psychology because of the long-time negative public opinion.
Of course,in our country,the new grain law have same more rigorous rules.For example,the genetically modified seeds' scientific research,experiments,proctions,sales,imports and exports should be followed to the country's laws,and every indivial person and unit are not allowed to imply genetically modified technology at principle grain cultivars without authorization.

Since 1983, scientists have been able to change plants more quickly by changing their genetic material(遺傳物質). Foods from plants grown in this way are called genetically modified foods(轉基因食品), or GM foods.
By changing the genetic material of a plant, it is possible to make new plants. They make plants which are strong against plant diseases. They can also help with our diseases: a kind of rice is being prepared(准備), for example, which stops people from becoming blind.
Rich countries proce GM foods because they are easy to grow and bring in more money. Poor countries are interested in them because they help proce more food.
GM plants are not natural. No one knows how good or bad they are. Making GM foods is only one way of feeding people in 2050. There are strong feelings against them, because they are unnatural. They may feed people, then hurt them or their children later. But, both rich and poor countries are very interested in their use, and they are not going to go away. In 2050 We may think differently about them.

Tangerines and Oranges
Displaying and eating these fruits is said to bring wealth and luck. According to the Chinese Culture Center of San Francisco, the tradition stems from the way the Chinese words for gold and orange sound alike, while the word for tangerine echoes luck. "It's good if they have leaves," adds Lum, "because leaves symbolize longevity." But don't group them in fours, because, Dunlop says, this number is associated with death.
Long Noodles
If noodles are served, then "keep them as long as possible for long life," says Lum.
The Tray of Togetherness
Put out for visiting relatives to snack on, or given as a gift, the eight ("a traditionally symboliclucky number," explains Dunlop) compartments of the tray are filled with things such as preserved kumquats for prosperity, coconut for togetherness, longans to bring many sons, and red melon seeds for happiness.
Nian Gao
"Nian gao means year cake, but gao sounds the same as the word for tall or high," says Dunlop. Hence the cakes symbolize achieving new heights in the coming year. The steamed sweets are made of glutinous rice flour, brown sugar, and oil. Some versions have white sesame seeds, red dates, or nuts in them (the dates are said to bring "early prosperity," writes Gong in Good Luck Life). Pomelo
This large citrus fruit is popular, writes Gong, because it is thought to bring "continuous prosperity and status." The tradition comes from the way the Cantonese phrase for pomelo sounds similar to the words for prosperity and status, explains Lum.
Jai
This vegetarian dish is eaten because it's "part of the Buddhist culture to cleanseyourself with vegetables," says Lum. It's also packed with good-luck foods, writes Gong, breaking it down by ingredient: sea moss for prosperity; lotus seeds for children/birth of sons; noodles for longevity; lily buds to "send 100 years of harmonious union"; Chinese black mushrooms to "fulfill wishes from east to west"; and more. Long Leafy Greens and Long Beans
Gong writes that leafy greens, such as Chinese broccoli, are "served whole to wish a long life for parents."
Whole Fish
The Chinese word for fish sounds like the word for abundance, says Lum. It's important that the fish is served with the head and tail intact, writes Gong, "to ensure a good start and finish and to avoid bad luck throughout the year."
Sweets
Serving desserts brings a sweet life in the new year. Gong writes that a childhood favorite was the flaky cookie pockets called gok jai, filled with peanuts, coconut, and sesame.
Yuanbao (Jiaozi)
"In North China, everyone eats the jiaozi mplings," says Dunlop. "Families will make adough and wrap it around pork and cabbage, and boil [the mplings], then serve them with vinegar and soy sauce. You can wrap them in the shape of an old silver ingot." Gong writes that ring New Year celebrations jiaozi are called yuanbao, a reference to the ancient, ingot-shaped Chinese currency, and that eating them is said to bring prosperity. While making them, families sometimes tuck added good-luck foods like peanuts (to bring long life) into some of them.
