Mr Black is walking in the park and he is very tired. He looks around and sees a chair in the distance. So he walks towards the chair.

一.「讀整本書」的意思
與「現代外語教學強調語言學習的實踐性，主張學生在語境中接觸、體驗、理解真實語言，並在此基礎上學習和運用語言」、「整本書」不同，現代外語教學以英語名著、小說等整本書為教材
「讀整本書」是基於一個「整」字，關注的是整體而不是局部，其內涵是整體的建構和整體的認識。
整體建構是學生閱讀能力和閱讀品格的綜合獲得整體認識是指學生對全書的思想內容、語言框架、各章之間的邏輯關系有整體的把握和全過程的意識。
二.讀本選擇和課程安排
學生的經驗、思想、價值觀都需要整體建構。
英語教材中的單篇文章反映了故事的某個片段或語言的某個節點； 整本書是故事全景式和語言體系的整體反映，而不僅僅是知識的片斷闡釋和個別情節的淺顯閱讀。
因此，必須認真考慮讀本的選擇、上課時間的劃分等。
(一)讀本選擇
學生是閱讀的主體，「閱讀整本書」旨在提高學生的閱讀素養。
因此，讀本的選擇應該以提高學生的閱讀素養為指導，以下幾點可以作為參考標准。 (1)突出學生主體，符合學生年齡特點、興趣愛好、認知水平。 )2)突出課程價值體凱困悉系，以蘊含豐富價值觀和人文信息的經典名著為主； )3)強調課程標準的關聯度，只有以課程標准為基礎，指向學生核心素養的讀本才更有意義和價值。
基於多年的實踐研究，筆者向學生推薦書目如下(見表1 )。
(二)課程安排
以The Little Prince的「閱讀整本書」為例。
該書共有27章，進行一學年整本書的閱讀，每學期約20周，每周1課時，一學年約40課時。
其中，導讀需要14課時(每課時導讀2章)，剩餘時間用於師生共讀、研討、討論。
每周學生可以自讀1-2章，第一學期讀完整的書，第二學期重讀。
因此，每周都要安排完整的課程進行「整本書閱讀」，使學生能始終關注和思考「整本書閱讀」的內容。
平時的一篇課上，不能處理「整本書看」的內容。 這樣，學生就會過度關注、疲勞一篇課的內容，忽視「整本書」，導致「整本書」內容的支離破碎和知識碎片。
三、「讀整本書」四個階段
「整本書」的教學過程大致可分為「教師導讀」、「學生自讀」、「師生共讀」、「學生重讀」四個階段。
在此，以經典名作The Little Prince為例，分別說明操作過程和注意事項。
(一)教師引領
教師的優勢在於能聚焦全書的結構、情節框架、語言特點、人文價值、閱讀方法等，激發學生的閱讀興趣，打開閱讀思路，做到「准備好」。
(二)學生自己學習
學生自讀是「讀整本書」的重要環節。
只有學生能自主閱讀，閱讀素養才能真正提高。
學生只有體驗自主盯乎閱讀，在自主閱讀過程中透徹理解故事，填寫閱讀筆錄，整理閱讀體驗，才能形成「整本書」的閱讀能力和素養。
調查顯示，學生自主閱讀時面臨的最大困難尺茄是單詞多，不能抓住重點。
要解決這些問題，教師必須傳授和培養閱讀的策略、技巧和方法。
(三)師生共讀
師生共讀是學生理解作品、體驗語言的重要途徑，可以加深學生對故事情節的理解，培養和發展學生對語言文字的敏感性，提高學生的閱讀素養。
師生共讀的基本形式是從篇章文本共讀出發，設計一系列活動，使學生在活動中閱讀故事、掌握語言、形成能力。
(四)學生重讀
書讀一百遍，自有分曉。
閱讀過程中產生的新觀點和發現，需要在重讀中進行印證和驗證。
在反復閱讀的過程中，學生重新理解作品，構建新的認知，感受更細致的語氣，思考更深入。
