（一）應培養對英語的語感
那麼什麼是語感呢？對於筆者來說語感就是一種敏感度。所謂敏感度就是一看題目知道出題者要考查的知識點；要想做到這一點不容易，需要同學們對平時重要的模擬考，期末考等大型考試題給予足夠的重視，考完必須花一定的時間認真分析試卷錯題，歸納總結考點解題規律等，而對於英語的重頭戲閱讀理解，語感其實是一種內化的知識儲備，即做題的感覺。
（二）總結一些重點生詞
做題過程中遇到你覺得重要的詞彙，不認識的單詞或短語一定要找單獨的本子積累下來，並且做到時常拿出來翻看，堅持一段時間，就能在潛移默化中快速擴大詞彙量，更重要的是大型考試中的閱讀生詞通常是高頻詞，對我們短期內增加詞彙量幫助很大。
（三）做題要學會舍棄某些較難題目，最大限度爭取時間做有把握的題
我們在考試中尤其是某些閱讀題目很多情況下有不能確定的答案，拿不準，需要我們回到文章中仔細尋找依據才能做選擇。遇到這種情況可以暫且先放這個題目到一邊去看下一題，這樣做一方面能夠節省考試時間，另一方面其他題的解答也許會對拿不準的上一題有所啟發。因此我們在平時訓練中遇到模稜兩可的題就應該大膽舍棄，不猶豫，嚴格在規定時間內做完全部題目，才是最明智的。

（四）課外英文讀物對提高閱讀能力很有幫助
帶著目的去讀書，在文章中碰到好的句子要能背誦出來，除了背誦精美句子，還要了解文章所介紹的北京文化，或者一些對國家民族，人物風俗習慣的介紹，這是因為這些內容會完形閱讀中有所體現，對我們加深對文章的理解很有幫助。
還可以堅持每天做2篇閱讀，控制時間，力求熟練，注重數量的同時也要注重質量。經過日積月累地強化訓練後能力必然有所提高。
（五）背誦英語課本中的課文也是增強閱讀能力的好方法。
背課文，很多同學一聽覺得沒什麼大用，但課文是培養閱讀能力的最佳途徑，也是我們現在英語水平能夠接受得很好的素材。文章中沒有平時閱讀理解里的長難句，絕大多事都是容易理解的句子，只要我們多讀多背，做卷子里的閱讀理解時就能夠更快的抓住要點，拿到分數。
（六）尋找適合自己的閱讀方法
拿到一篇閱讀，先看問題和選項，由於問題設置順序大部分和文章的順序有對應關系，問題一般按文章內容先後設置，帶著問題讀文章能幫助我們大致了解文章的內容。
其次同學們要對文章的首段及每個段落的首句給予足夠重視。這些地方通常是設題的重點區域，重視這些地方至少幫你解決一，兩個題。最後針對一些事實細節題再去看原文。帶著相關問題，找到細節所在段落，接著聯繫上下文語境做出最佳答案。
