From the text…,According to…,True/not true,劃線詞語、句子,簡單計算、排列事件順序、識圖等。

有的是通過加上相應的詞語限制,如涉及到數量時常用many,almost all,nearly,more than,over,only a few,normally等限制。

What' s the topic/subject of the text/the second paragraph?

What is stated in…? The text is cheifly concerned with_______。

①概括不夠(多表現為部分代整體,從而導致范圍太小);

②過度概括(多表現為人為擴大范圍);

The story suggests that___________. It can be inferred that_____________。

The story implies that _____________. It can be concluded that __________。

We can learn that _______________。

①利用構詞法猜詞;

同時特別留心某些詞語,例如:or, that is, in other words, including, although, but, or, even if, on the other hand, on the contrary, other than, rather than, more than, instead of等詞語之後的內容。

It was a village in India. The people were poor. However, they were not unhappy. After all, their forefathers had lived in the same way for centuries.

Then one day, some visitors from the city arrived. They told the villagers there were some people elsewhere who liked to eat frog's legs. However, they did not have enough frogs of their own ,and so they wanted to buy frogs from other places.

This seemed like money for nothing. There were millions of frogs in the fields around, and they were no use to the villagers. All they had to do was catch them. Agreement was reached, and the children were sent into the fields to catch frogs. Every week a truck arrived to collect the catch and hand over the money. For the first time, the people were able to dream of a better future. But the dream didn't last long.

The change was hardly noticed at first, but it seemed as if the crops were not doing so well. More worrying was that the children fell ill more often, and, there seemed to be more insects around lately.

The villagers decided that they couldn't just wait to see the crops failing and the children getting weak. They would have to use the money earned to buy pesticides (殺蟲劑) and medicines. Soon there was no money left.

Then the people realized what was happening. It was the frog. They hadn't been useless. They had been doing an important job—eating insects. Now with so many frogs killed, the insects were increasing more rapidly. They were damaging the crops and spreading diseases.

Now,the people are still poor. But in the evenings they sit in the village square and listen to sounds of insects and frogs. These sounds of the night now have a much deeper meaning.

Somali pirates (海盜) robbed three Thai fishing ships with 77 sailors on board nearly 1,200 miles off the Somali coast, the farthest-off-shore attack to date, an officer said Tuesday.

Pirates have gone farther south and east in answer to increased patrols(巡邏) by warships off the Somali shore. The robbing of the three ships Sunday was about 600 miles outside the normal operation area for the international force, said a spokesman.

The spokesman said the attack so far out at sea was a clear sign that the international patrols against pirates were having a “marked effect on pirate activity in the area”.

“Once they start attacking that far out, you're not even really talking about the Somali basin or areas of water that have any connection with Somalia.” said an officer, Roger Middleton. “Once you're that far out, it's just the Indian Ocean, and it means you're looking at trade going from the Gulf to Asia, from Asia to South Africa.”

“This is the farthest robbing to date. They are now operating near the Maldives and India.” said another officer.

The three ships-the MV Prantalay 11,12,and 14-had 77 members on board in total. All of them are Thai, the spokesman said. Before the Sunday robbing, pirates held 11 ships and 228 sailors.

Pirates have increased attacks over the past year in hopes of catching more dollar payments. Because of increased patrols and defenses on board ships, the success rate(率) has gone down, though the number of successful attacks has stayed the same year over year.

1. The pirate attack reported in the text happened________.

A. far out in the Indian Ocean

B. in the normal patrol area

C. near the Somali coast

D. in the south of Africa

2. According to the text, which can best describe the situation of the pirate problems?

B. Pirate attacks happen in a larger area now.

C. The number of attacks has stayed the same these years.

D. Pirate attacks are as serious as before along the Somali coast.

3. Which is TRUE about the warship patrols according to the text?

B. The patrols are more difficult.

C. More patrols are quite necessary even in Asia.

D. The patrols only drive the pirates to other areas.

4. How many sailors were held by the pirates up to the time of the report?

A. 228.

B. 77.

C. 383.

D. 305.

第一段中有“The people were poor. However, they were not unhappy.”

根據第二段的.“This seemed like money for nothing.”

根據倒數第二段中“They had been doing an important job—eating insects. Now with so many frogs killed, the insects were increasing more rapidly. They were damaging the crops and spreading diseases.”

“The robbing of the three ships Sunday was about 600 miles outside the normal operation area for the international force”以及“Once you're that far out, it's just the Indian Ocean...”

依據...the international patrols against pirates were having a “marked effect on pirate activity in the area”及Once you're that far out, it's just the Indian Ocean, and it means you're looking at trade going from the Gulf to Asia, from Asia to South Africa.

由文章首句“Somali pirates robbed three Thai fishing ships with 77 sailors on board...”及“Before the Sunday robbing, pirates held 11 ships and 228 sailors.”

When Adam and Eve wereexpelledfrom Eden, there was an incident when the flames of a blazing sword of an angel, who had sent them away, burned a birds nest.

The birds were all burned to death, but a new bird was born from one of theruddilyheated eggs. This means that the unique Phoenix was born.

The phoenix builds its nest in Arabia, and there is a myth that it set fire to its own nest once every 100 years. Among those ruddy eggs heated by the fire, a new Phoenix comes to be born again.

The phoenix flies as fast as a ray of light, its feathers are ofdazzlingbeauty, and the sound of its voice is very sweet.

When a mother sits next to her babys cradle and dandles the baby, the Phoenix comes down to the babys pillow, and the glaring feathers of Phoenix make a halo around the babys head. The phoenix flies around rooms of poor people, sprinklessunshine, and carries the fragrance of violets into the rooms.

The phoenix stays not only in Arabia but it flies around the far North Pole, broad field, above the rivers where the sunshine falls in coal mines and in our front yards where beautiful flowers bloom.

On the carriage of the Greek tragic poet, Thespis, the Phoenix became atalkativecrow, for the troubadours of Island it played the harp disguised as a swan, and on the shoulder of Shakespeare the phoenix whispered "eternity" as it was the Odins crow.

The phoenix sang beautiful songs, and people kissed its shining fallen feathers from its wings. Even though the Phoenix came from glorious Paradise, people may not see the Phoenix because they are busy with seeingsparrows.

The bird of the Paradise! Born once every 100 years, dies in flames! When it was born under the tree of wisdom in the garden of the Paradise, God kissed the Phoenix and gave him a name. That was "Poetry and Art".

What a scary and sensational scene it is! In the drawing, the driver, as drunken as a fiddler①, is driving fast on the road, with a large bottle of beer on the top of his car. What is conveyed by the picture has both realistic and alarming implications for each member of the country。

The profound meaning of the vivid drawing can be elaborated in terms of both awareness of security and social responsibility. For one thing, consciousness of safety should be one of our top priorities. Life is one-way journey: you cannot experience it twice. So life is to be respected and awed②. It is cruel to and inhumane to spell the end of any life, with a careless driving under the influence (DUI)③. For another, to act as a responsible member of the society, each of us should bear social responsibility. We do not live only for ourselves but also for those whom we love and who love us. It is irresponsible to claim either lives of drivers or lives of other victims are not important, leaving the families and relatives into deep grief and, may be, great living burden④。

In short, it is imperative that legislative measures should be taken by the authority to punish drunk drivers severely such as suspending their driving licenses or even putting them into jail. Besides, the mass media, such as TV, radio and website, should work together to enhance awareness of security and sense of responsibility to rece the rate of car accident。

As is vividly depicted by the drawing above, a boy is sleeping soundly① and comfortably in the sofa, with the television on, when his mother comes and turns off the television for him, blaming the boy for not having turned off the television again②。

This phenomenon can easily be found anywhere in our daily life. Many people are used to doing③ everything with the television on, not actually watching it at all. Such a habit can cause waste of much electricity and energy, and result in the emission of carbon. This deviates from the popular concept of “low carbon life” — to rece the emission of carbon, especially carbon dioxide, to protect our environment and realize sustainable development. According to statistics, if we can decrease the time for having the television on by one hour each day, we can dece the amount of carbon emission by 4. 71 kilogram each month。

To serve as responsible stewards of the planet④, we must promote and popularize a low carbon life among the public from every detail in our daily life. We must change the past practice of sacrificing long-term environmental health for short-term rapid economic development, and shift to developing green economy, circular economy and low carbon economy. All these effective measures can help us to reach harmony between development of the society and health of the nature。

A boy is fast asleep。

② A boy is sleeping soundly and comfortably in the sofa, with the television on, when his mother comes and turns off the television for him, blaming the boy for not having turned off the television again。

A boy is sleeping, when his mother comes and turns off the television。

“with the television on”: with 引導的伴隨結構,即A boy is sleeping, while the television is on. A boy is sleeping, forgetting to turn off the television。

“blaming the boy for not having turned off the television again”,這句是媽媽關電視的伴隨動作,一邊關電視,一邊責怪孩子忘記關電視。

③ are used to doing:

④ to serve as responsible stewards of the planet:這是2005年真題閱讀中的原句,的 文章 裡面的句型,引用的標准到位。

Just as what is shown in the picture, a girl is asking a question online. Answers from different netizens differ so greatly that the girl is very confused about whom she should follow①. It is obvious that it is becoming a fashion for people to ask questions online when confronting a dilemma。

The implication implicit in the drawing can be elaborated as follows. On the one hand, the Internet has provided us with great convenience. For example, we can get knowledge about nearly all aspects on the Internet with only several keyboard commands and a few clicks of the mouse through search engines such as Bai and so on. On the other hand, with an explosive amount of information on the Internet②, it can be difficult to tell good information from bad③. For example, teenagers and adolescents may mistake the bad information online as good, the result of which can be rather devastating. Some dirty information on the net may exert negative impacts on people。

In conclusion, on the one hand, it is important for us to take full advantage of Internet to enhance our efficiency and save our time. On the other hand, effective steps should be taken to ecate people to avoid and elude inappropriate and even wrong data online so as not to be misguided. Only in this way can the net better serve for our life, study and work④。

The set of pictures present a distinguishable contrast of the role of the automobile over time: a century ago, people celebrated the invention of such rapid equipment for transportation, which could take us to wherever we want. Yet now, particularly in urban areas, the automobile is more of a trouble as its abundance results in frequent traffic jams. Drivers in the second picture even fall asleep when trapped in this “disaster”.

Traffic jams have long been a problem that preoccupies many metropolitan cities such as New York, Tokyo, and Beijing. The harm and loss they cost are incalculable. First and foremost, they waste a huge amount of people’s time passed waiting idly in their cars. Secondly, cars in traffic jams proce more exhaust that exacerbates air pollution. Most importantly, a severe traffic jam might results in the dysfunction of a whole city, which can affect residents’ life as well as businesses and instries.

In my opinion, it is an urgent task to rece the frequency of traffic jams. The first step should be to change people’s lifestyles fundamentally so that the car is no longer part and parcel of their everyday life. Governments also need to apply attractive measures to draw citizens to adopt means of public transportation, for instance, to rece prices and improve relevant facilities. In short, the cease of traffic jams will largely ameliorate life quality in cities.

Every morning, the newspaper chief editor(主編) holds a meeting with the reporters. They discuss the main events(事件) of the day. Reporters are then sent to cover the events.

As soon as the reporters know what to write about, they get down to work. They telephone people and fix a time for a face-to-face interview with them. Sometimes they do telephone interviews. Checking information is very important. They go to the newspaper’s own library to look up any information that they need. This is called “doing one’s homework”.

At the same time, the picture editor decides which photographs will be used for the next day’s paper. All the people who work on a newspaper must be able to work fast. Reporters have to stop working on one story and start working at once on the important new one. They must find out the new information as quickly as possible. Later in the day, everything is put together at the news desk. Reporters return, type their stories into the computer and hand them to the editor.

The chief editor decides which will be the most important story on the front page. Sometimes this will have to be changed if something more important happens late in the day. Other editors read the stories which the reporters have written and make any necessary changes.

Finally, there is no more time left for adding new stories, and the time for printing(印刷) the newspaper has come. This is done on fast-moving printing machines. The newspapers are then delivered(發送) by truck, plane or rail. Speed is important. People want to buy the latest newspaper; nobody wants to buy yesterday’s.

“When can I get a cell phone?” The answer is when your parents think you need one, though many kids seem to be getting them around age 12 or 13. Some younger kids may have them because their parents see it as a matter of safety and convenience. For example, a kid can call mom and dad when sports practice is over. And a cell phone can give kids almost instant access(快捷通道) to their parents if something goes wrong or they need help. It can give parents quick access to their kids so they can check on them and make sure they’re OK.

If you do get a cell phone, make some rules with your parents, such as how many minutes you’re allowed to spend on the phone, when you can use your phone, when the phone must be turned off, and what you will do if someone calls you too often, and so on.

You’ll also have to learn to take care of the phone in your life. Keep it charged(充電) and store it in the safe place so it doesn’t get lost. And whatever you do, don’t use it in the bathroom. I know someone who dropped her phone in the toilet!

The main idea of this pasage is that.

The passage ismainly about.

The best title for the passage is.

From the passagewe can learn conclude that.

What's the purpose of the passage?

Whom does the authorwrite for?

What's the background of the passage?

寫作即要求五個「W」(when,where,who,whathow)的表述一目瞭然。
