我參加過來《暴風雨》源的純英文演出，演的男主角（Prospero），我可以絕對告訴你，無論是美國人還是英國人都無法在沒有接觸過莎士比亞或者伊麗莎白年代的舊英文的情況下看懂。。。尤其是《暴風雨》，《暴風雨》是莎士比亞最後的一部戲劇作品，無論從戲劇深度還是他對文字把握的熟練程度來講都是無與倫比的。如果你想讀莎士比亞，我建議你先閱讀並理解一些莎士比亞寫的《十四行詩》，然後再讀些莎士比亞寫的相對比較簡單的作品比如他的第一部出版戲《錯誤的喜劇》(Comedy Of Errors)和《As You Like It》。莎士比亞最基礎的格律是Iambic Pentenmeter，基本上大部分的台詞和十四行詩都是尊崇這個格律的，所以配合著這些格律他的作品舊更難理解（但是一旦理解了就會覺得文字間的關系簡直是精妙無比。對演員來說，演莎士比亞的作品是測量演員演技的標尺呢）

Last Friday a storm swept through two villages in the New Territories, destroying (摧毀) fourteen homes. Is there anything more important than health? I don't think so. “Health is the greatest wealth (財富),” wise people say. You can't be good at your studies or work well when you are ill.
If you have a headache, toothache, backache, earache or bad pain in the stomach, if you complain of a bad cough, if you run a high temperature and have a bad cold, or if you suffer from high or low blood pressure (血壓), I think you should go to the doctor.
The doctor will examine your throat, feel your pulse, test your blood pressure, take your temperature, sound your heart and lungs, test your eyes, check your teeth or have your chest X-rayed.

Ben的爸爸正在窗戶上放著一片片木頭時，他的媽媽也正在確認閃光燈和收音機可以工作運行。「while」與「when」不完全相同，when既指時間點，也可指一段時間，while只指一段時間，因此when引導的時間狀語從句中的動詞可以是終止性動詞，也可以是延續性動詞，而while從句中的動詞必須是延續性動詞。
