这人陷入了沉思。
智者俯身抓起一把沙土，叹道：“看，水就这么消失了，这也是一生！”
这个人对智者的话咀嚼了良久，高兴地说：“我知道了，您是通过水告诉我，社会处处像一个个规则的容器，人应该像水一样，盛进什么容器就是什么形状。而且，人还极可能在一个规则的容器中消逝，就像这水一样，消逝的无影无踪，而且一切无法改变！”这人说完，眼睛紧盯着智者的眼睛，他急于得到智者的肯定。
“是这样。”智者拈须，转而又说：“又不是这样！”说完，智者出门，这人随后。在屋檐下，智者蹲下身，用手在青石板的台阶上摸了一会儿，然后顿住。这人把手伸向刚才智者手指所触之地，他感到有一个凹处。他迷惑，他不知道这本来平整的石阶上的“小窝”藏着什么玄机。
智者说：“一到雨天，雨水就会从屋檐落下，看，这个凹处就是水落下长期打击的结果。”
此人于是大悟：“我明白了，人可能被装入规则的容器，但又像这小小的水滴，改变着坚硬的青石板，直到破坏容器。”
智者说：“对，这个窝会变成一个洞！”
这个人答：“那么，我找到答案了！”
智者不语，用微笑和沉默与这个人对话。这人离开了智者，重新回到了社会，他用行动与智者对话。这世间又多了一个充满活力的人。
