C. 英語中數字的讀法
首先，英語數字都是以1000為單位的，thousand(千)，million（百萬），billion（十億）。
比如1 234 567 890要讀成one billion，two hundred thirty-four million, five hundred sixty-seven thousand, eight hundred ninty.
有點特殊的是 2600 可以讀成 twenty-six hundred
關於什麼時候加and，如果 相鄰的兩位數字不是零的話，and都是可以省去不讀的；如果出現零一般都得讀出。比如：1405 one thousand 4hundred and five，305 400 three hundred and five thousand （and）four thousand。以上兩個沒加括弧的兩個and是不能省的。
出現零也可以不讀出的情況只有200 300 two hundred thousand （and）three hundred
所以最開始的1234567890這個大數每一處都可以加and，只是這樣不連貫，英語本土人一般都會把它省掉。我們自己讀的話都加上其實也沒錯的，畢竟我們也很難說到像他們那麼流利，加上and能增加我們思考和組織話語的時間。

基數詞在句中可作主語、賓語、定語、表語、同位語。
1、The two happily opened the box． 兩個人高興地打開了盒子。（作主語）
2、I need three altogether． 我總共需要三個。（作賓語）
3、Four students are playing volleyball outside． 四個學生在外面打排球。（作定語）
4、We are sixteen． 我們是16個人。（作表語）
5、They three tried to finish the task before sunset． 他們三個人盡力想在日落前完成任務。（作同位語）
千位數以上 從數字的右端向左端數起，每三位數加一個逗號「，」。從右開始，第一個「，」前的數字後添加 thousand，第二個「，」前面的數字後添加 million，第三個「，」前的數字後添加 billion。然後一節一節分別表示，兩個逗號之間最大的數為百位數形式。
基數詞在表示確切的數字時，不能使用百、千、百萬、十億的復數形式；但是，當基數詞表示不確切數字，如成百、成千上萬，三三兩兩時，基數詞則以復數形式出現。

I. 英語數字讀法
一、基數詞的讀法
1、在英式英語中，一個數的最後兩位(十位和個位)得用"and''，但美式英語中則不用。如：
3，077（U.S）：three thousand，seventy-seven
2、不定冠詞"a"只在數的開頭才和hundred，thousand等連用。試比較：
146讀作：a hundred(and)forty-six
2，146讀作：two thousand，one hundred(and)forty-six
3、1，000這個整數我們說a thousand，在and前我們也說a thousand，但是在一個有百位數的數目前就得說one thousand，試比較：
1,031讀作：a thousand，(and)thirty-one
1,150讀作：one thousand，one hundred(and)fifty
4、hundred，thousand和million這幾個詞的單數可以和"a"或者"one"連用，但是不能單獨使用。在非正式文體中"a"比較常見；當我們說話比較准確的時候就用"one"，試比較：
I want to live for a hundred years.我想活一百年。
The journey took exactly one hundred days.這次旅行正好花了一百天。
我們常常說eleven hundred(1，100)，twelve hundred(1,200)等，而不說one thousand one hundred。從1，100到1,900之間的整數，這種說法最常見。
二、序數詞的讀法
lst讀作：(the)first
2nd讀作：(the)second
3nd讀作：(the)third
4th讀作： (the)fourth
20th讀作：(the)twentieth
21st讀作：(the)twenty-first

23rd讀作：(the)twenty-third
三、小數的讀法
小數點"."讀"point"，小數點前按基數詞的讀法來讀，小數點後的數若是兩位以上，則分別讀出.
0.5讀作：zero point five
0.25讀作：zerop point two five
0.125讀作：zero point one two five
93，64m讀作：ninety-three point six four meters
2'15.11''讀作：two minutes fifteen point one one seconds
四、年代及日期的讀法
1、數字表示的年份通常分成兩半來讀：
2000B.C.讀作：two thousand BC
1558讀作：fifteen fifty-eight
1603讀作：sixteen(hundred and)three/sixteen oh three
921讀作：nine twenty-one
2、對於日期的表達，英式和美式有所不同，請注意區別：英式先寫日子，美式先寫月份：
英：1999年4月6日=6th April l999
美：1999年4月6日=April 6，1999
五、鍾點的讀法
1、鍾點的讀法分英式和美式兩種，我們應對此加以注意。
7：00讀作：seven o'clock a.m./p.m.
8：15讀作：a quarter past eight/eight fifteen
