一、提高初中生的英語學習興趣
在英語閱讀理解過程中,如果學生對英語沒有一點興趣,那麼閱讀理解就很難進行,因此,要想提高學生的英語閱讀水平,就必須首先激發學生的英語學習興趣。學生閱讀的心理狀態和閱讀理解的有效性有著直接的聯系,如果學生對閱讀非常感興趣,目的明確,有著強烈的閱讀慾望,那麼閱讀效果就會非常好。反之,如果學生對英語閱讀沒有興趣,感覺英語學習枯燥無味,產生抵觸和排斥心理,那麼閱讀效果就會非常差。
傳統的教學模式往往以老師為主,採用簡單粗暴的滿堂灌模式,學生一味地被動接受英語學習,學習的積極性難免會受到不同層次的打擊。要想提高初中生的英語學習積極性、激發他們的學習興趣,就必須改變這種傳統的教學模式,讓學生成為課堂的真正主人,讓教師由傳統的「教學者」轉變為課堂學習的「引導者」,讓學生在老師的引導下主動地、有目的地閱讀課本。同時,教師也要適時、適當地鼓勵學生,保持他們的英語學習積極性,開發他們的學習潛力。
二、培養初中生的良好閱讀習慣
英語閱讀能力的提高絕非一日之功,這要求學生在日常生活學習中勤加練習,而在這個過程中能否養成良好的閱讀習慣對提高閱讀水平有著非常重要的影響。
常見的不良閱讀習慣主要包括:(1)聲讀(vocalising),或者是心讀(subvocalising),在閱讀的時候初中生會有意識地發出每個單詞的讀音或者心裡默念每個單詞的讀音,會極大地降低閱讀的速度,是提高英語閱讀得分率的一大忌。(2)指讀(Pointing),顧名思義,就是在閱讀的時候用手指或者筆尖指著文章逐句逐詞地閱讀。或者譯讀(mental translation),對每句進行翻譯。這兩種不良的閱讀習慣都是力求對文章內容有詳細的了解,然而在閱讀理解中,有的並不要求詳讀,略讀即可。(3)回視(regressions),即學生在閱讀過程中遇到生詞或者不理解的句子,就會返迴文章,又開始重新閱讀。依賴詞典(too dependent on dictionary),在閱讀的過程中遇到不同的詞就停下來閱讀,依賴詞典,查找詞義。這兩種不良的閱讀習慣不僅會降低閱讀速度,而且閱讀的質量也會很低。如果學生能克服這些不良的英語閱讀習慣,英語閱讀能力將會得到極大的提高。
那麼,如何培養初中生良好的閱讀習慣?筆者對此作了簡單的總結:
1.養成默讀的閱讀習慣,避免聲讀或者心讀,無聲地閱讀文章可以極大地提高閱讀速度。
2.培養學生按意群進行英語閱讀的習慣,放棄逐字閱讀或者手指點讀。這種閱讀方式不僅能提高閱讀速度,同時對文章能有全面的了解,而不僅僅局限於閱讀文章句子的理解。
3.學生在日常英語閱讀練習中注重培養學生縱式的閱讀習慣。把自己的目光集中在閱讀材料的居中部位,上下移動,用餘光掃視左右,避免「回讀」。也可以利用對意群的理解對文章進行跳躍式閱讀,抓住文章的中心思想。
4.學生在平時的英語閱讀練習中還應培養猜詞義的閱讀習慣。根據自己對上下文的理解來猜測某個生詞的詞義,戒掉對詞典的過度依賴。這樣閱讀速度才會加快,閱讀理解的准確率才會有很大的提高。
